I woke up in the morning and got ready to leave for the next venue. Paige was already awake and left early to catch up with Emma so I was all alone. I decided that it was time to call my mom and let her know what happened last night.
I dialed her number and waited for her to answer. "Hello?" she asked.
"Hey mama." I said.
"Hi sweetheart. How are you?"
"I'm good. I'm getting ready to leave for the next city." I paused. "Listen, last night I went out with Joe."
"Who's Joe?"
"Roman Reigns mama. Anyway, I saw him."
"Saw who?" she asked.
"Dad." I said.
"He found you?"
"I'm not sure. I saw him and then he was gone. I think my mind is just playing tricks on me." I said.
"Honey, don't worry. Your father will never find you, okay? You have nothing to worry about." she said.
"I know. I just, I feel so unsafe." I said.
"Don't talk like that. Just keep a look out. Okay? But live your life."
"Thanks mama." I said.
"So tell me about him. Joe. What's he like? I mean, I've seen him on TV but what's he like outside of the ring?"
"He's amazing. He's such a gentleman and he really sees me mama. He sees past all of the problems. Not that he knows about them but he just sees me. I really like him." I said.
There was a knock on the door and I answered it. It was Joe and Jon. I motioned for them to come in.
"That's great honey. I'm so happy for you." my mom said.
"Thanks mama. Listen, I have to go. I'll call you later. I love you." I said.
"I love you too." she said.
We hung up and I turned my attention to the guys. "Hey. What are you guys doing here?" I asked.
"We always meet up so we can ride together. Remember?" Jon asked.
"Yeah. Sorry. I've just been kind of out of it." I said.
"You okay?" Joe asked.
"Yeah. Yeah I'm fine. I just have a lot going on. That's all."
"Well, are you ready to go?" Jon asked.
"Yeah." I said. I grabbed my bags and we walked out of the hotel room. On the way down, Joe grabbed some of my bags from me. "Thank you but you didn't have to do that."
"I know but I wanted to." he said.
"Okay." I said.
We loaded the bags in Joe's car and then climbed in. I was in the passenger seat, Joe was in the driver seat and Jon was in the back. He didn't mind. He had more room to sleep.
Joe started the car and some rap music started playing. "Dude." I gave him an 'are you serious' look.
"What? I love rap music." he said.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"You don't?" he asked.
"No. I like music I sing to and not get jumbled up."
"Okay." he said. He turned the station and '18 and Life by Skid Row' came on.
"Now this is what I'm talking about." I said.
"You like this music?" he asked.
"Yeah. It's better than today's music. Today it's nothing but rap, sex and drugs. Back then there was very important lessons that artists sang about in life." I said.
"Wow. Okay then." he said.
He left it on the station and I sang along with it.
"Ricky was a young boy he had a heart of stone. Lived 9 to 5 and he worked his fingers to the bone. Just barely out of school. Came from the edge of town. Fought like a switchblade so no one can take him down oh no. He had no money. No, no good at home. He walked the streets as soldier and he fought the world alone and now it's 18 and life you got it. 18 and life you know. Your crime is time and it's 18 and life to go. 18 and life you got it. 18 and life you know. Your crime is time and it's 18 and life to go." I sang.
Joe looked at me and smiled.
I smiled back at him. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing. You just have a really good voice." he said.
"No I don't. Don't lie." I said.
"I'm not lying. Jon don't you think she has a good voice?" he asked.
"Yeah. But I knew that long before you did. Her singing is soothing and it puts me to sleep." Jon said.
"Guys, my singing is not that good." I said.
"Yes it is." Joe said.
"No it's not."
"Yes it is."
"No it's not."
Joe and I went back and forth for about five minutes until Jon yelled at us to stop. We went the rest of the road trip at an agree to disagree stand point and I kept singing. Joe smiled every time I did and I liked it.
We stopped at a restaurant and ate before getting back on the road.
"So how come you guys like to drive and not fly? You have so much more time to do things when you fly." Joe said.
"Because you get to see so many cool things. I love driving." I said.
"Oh." he said.
Once we were done eating we got back on the road. This time, Jon drove, Joe sat passenger and I got the back. I was pretty tired.
I felt someone shaking me and I opened my eyes. Joe was smiling at me. "We're here." he said.
"Okay." I said.
I got out and went to grab my bags but Joe already had them.
"I can take my own bags." I said.
"I know but I want to." he said.
"You really are a gentleman." I told him.
"It's how I was raised."
"Well I'll be sure to thank your parents if I ever meet them."
"You will. Eventually." he said.
I smiled.
We got up to my room and he gave me a kiss before I went in. This time I was rooming with Summer Rae. I didn't care for her but I didn't like her either. This was gonna be interesting.
