One liners.
Leo was constantly texting you one liners. Playfully, and laughingly, you usually texted your own right back.
"Hot Shot: Say, did it hurt?"
You looked down at your phone, doing chin ups on a bar in the gym.
"Hot Shot: When you fell from heaven?"
You let out a bark of laughter, squinting in amusement at your phone and a few of the boys around bristled, looking back at you nervously. Sometimes when you were angry, someone would make the mistake of calling you short, and that resulted in a very brutal smack-down. Those boys had a tendency to often forget that, and were quite jumpy with you.
"Y/N: I dunno, did it, Angel?"
You quipped your text right back. He sent a flustered GIF and you laughed again.
"Who ya texting?" Your friend Alec asked, swinging himself up on the bar above you. "Someone I met outside the subway, and feel like befriending, you?" You twisted your leg over your head to tap his phone with the tip of your shoe, grinning at him mischievously.
He sniggered, sticking his tongue out at you. "Classified." "Ah, you get a boyfriend?" You teased, he cackled, dropping down and snickering. "No, but maybe some day!" He laughed, enjoying himself.
"Okay, gym is over, everyone get changed and head to your next class! Pack it up and go!"
"'Kay!" You chirped, dropping down and landing sturdily on your feet. "So, my little boulder-" Pops ruffled a hand through your hair and you giggled, playfully swatting it away as sweat clung to the hairs on the back of your neck. His other arm was no longer existent, the only sign of it ever having been there, was the stump in place of where it used to reside.
He smiled, his mustache bristling as he mussed your hair up further, getting more laughter out of you. "Good luck, sweet pea." He chuckled. You nodded. "Okay, I'm gonna go change and head to class! Bye pops!" You scampered away to the girls' locker room. You were always held back by your dad for a bit, as an excuse, because you felt uncomfortable changing. You skittered into a small stall and changed quickly, dumping your gym clothes to pick up later, and sprinting out. "LOVE YA, POPS!" You shouted, making a big heart over your head with your arms. He booked out a laugh.
"Don't run! I love you too!" You beamed and speed-walked to class.
Your phone chimed.
"Hot Shot: Say, you free later?"
You snickered.
"Y/N: Nope. 'Cause you could never afford me, Sweetheart."
Your reply got a laugh out of him and you laughed to yourself.
"Hot Shot: But seriously, you got time to hang out?"
You squinted, weighing the pros and Cons.
He was a mutant, you knew that now, you met him a few weeks ago, and had seen him around since, he seemed to be an honest, upstanding guy, but there was one issue...
Your dads would need to know where you were going, who you were seeing, and you'd need an excuse to go...
You smiled, deciding you'd drop off those cupcakes for Alec, then go and hang out with your new friend later.
"Y/N: Sure. But, I'll need to stop by my friend's place to drop something off, then we can hang, 'Kay, Hot Shot?"
Your text was immediately answered right as you got to class.
"Hot Shot: Deal!"
