"I was—" Nikhil started but she picked up a glass of water and threw it on his face. "STOP JUDGING ME FOR GOD'S SAKE!" She said loudly, and furiously ran out.
Me? Cheater? What the hell? I was just teasing him. I don't like the Raj! You are my husband, AND I AM LOYAL! She shouted as she kept walking. It was her way to let out her stress and anger on the incident that had just occured.
She saw a small shack with lights. It had a title, 'Cross Bar'. She went in and took a table for herself — it was a bar and a small restaurant.
"White pasta and garlic bread, please," she ordered.
You called me a cheater right Nikhil? She said to herself, so I will cheat — I WILL CHEAT ON FOOD Mr. Nikhil Reddy!!
"Here's your order ma'am," the waiter said. Jazz music was playing in the background as the food came. "Mhmm.. It smells so good!" She commented.
Nikhil on the other hand went to the restroom. He washed his face.
His heart started scolding him. Why can't you keep your mouth shut? You just blurt out anything!
His mind retorted back, Varnika's betrayal re-entered.
So what? You hurt her again. How could you? His heart shouted back.
"I must apologize to her. I need to share Varnika's betrayal story with her," he muttered.
The truth was that Nikhil was jealous. He had been proud of her, seeing her progress. But whenever he saw her with Raj, he couldn't control his emotions anymore. He felt like killing him.
You are in love my boy, his heart said and Nikhil shouted, "SHUT UP!"
Nikhil then went out, looking for her in their room. She wasn't there. He searched all over the hotel but couldn't find her. He tried calling her but then remembered that Sahasra's phone was in their room itself.
"WHERE ARE YOU SAHASRA!?" He fell on his knees and pulled his hair in frustration.
Sahasra, on the other hand, finished her meal and came out of the bar. She decided to return to the hotel, it was at walking distance anyway. The road was lonely, but she wasn't scared.
What bothered her was the tag of 'cheater' that her husband had put on her that day.
Just then a flash of light hit her eye. She looked on to see, it was her husband's car. Nikhil stepped out but she ignored him and kept walking.
"Wait Sahasra," he called out softly, but she just kept walking.
"I'm sorry, I really am," he said as she started walking behind her.
"Oh please! You're just gonna say some other crap and then apologize all over again," she said. Turning around and looking straight into his eyes she continued, "Let's get divorced. Nobody in the academy knows we're married so let's keep it that way. You know something? I don't hate you. But you clearly do hate me."
