Oct. 4: Rainy Day - Djaite Special

this one is more of a friendship little thing because ngl this is my second time writing this and i found it hard to write them as a couple.

The sound of rain hitting the windows and the sudden chill in the room woke Katie up. She looks out the window to her left and saw the heavy rain falling. She picked up her phone and saw a text message from her roommate Dj, saying that he went to the store and would be home soon.

Dj and Katie had become roommates after Total Drama Island ended. Sadie had lived with them as well but moved in with her mom to help her around the house and with her siblings.

After replying to Dj, Katie decided to take a shower. After finishing up, she got into warm comfy clothes and went out to the living room to wait for Dj to get home. About 10 minutes later the door opened and Dj walked in carrying an abundance of different bags.

Katie stood up and walked over to the kitchen counter. "What did you get?"

"Well," he started taking off his rain jacket. "Since it's a rainy day, I thought that we could make a fun day out of it! If you're wanting to of course."

"Oh my gosh!! Dj of course!"

Dj smiled and pulled out a variety of things from the bag such as, popcorn, hot cocoa mix, snacks, arts and crafts stuff and even a blanket. "I got you another blanket to watch movies for later."

Katie took the blanket, feeling the velvet on it. "It's so soft, I love it!"

"I knew you would. Sooo what do you want to do first?"

"Hmm, I think that we should start by making breakfast. I'm starving."

"Now that you mention that, I'm hungry too. I'll make my mama's special waffle recipe."

"Perfect! I love when you make waffles."

Dj spent the next 20 minutes mixing together the batter and poured it into the waffle maker. When they were done, he topped them off with fruit, fresh maple syrup, and a little bit of powdered sugar.

"Anddd breakfast is served," Dj said, sliding Katie the plate. He made his own plate and sat next to Katie cutting into the waffle. They sat in comfortable silence for the next few minutes enjoying their meal.

Once Katie was done she cleaned up her plate and put it in the dishwasher. "Thank you for making breakfast! It was amazing."

Dj smiled at her finishing the last bite. "You're welcome!"

"Since I chose breakfast first, you chose what we do next."

"Hmmm." Dj looked at all the stuff on the table and grabbed a few bags of art supplies. "This is going to sound so childish butttt, I think we should make friendship bracelets."

Katie laughed, "You can never be too old for friendship bracelets!" She helped Dj carry some of the things to a smaller table in the living room. They poured some of the beads on the table and decided on a pink and green theme.

Katie took the string and tried to eyeball how big to make it but Dj's wrists were too hard to guess. "Dj, can I see your wrist real quick? I need to measure how big to make the string." He nodded and held his wrist out keeping it still while she measured. "Perfect!" She cut the string and stretched it out a bit before threading it through the beads.

When they were done, they put the bracelets on each other and laughed at the size comparisons of their wrists.

"Okay okay we can stop making fun of my tiny wrists now. I say we bringe TV shows and movies now. What do you think?"

"That sounds perfect. I'll go mix up the hot cocoa and you and lay the snacks out and turn the movie on."

They both got up and walked into the kitchen. Katie grabbed some snacks and brought them back to the couch, laying them out on the table. She sat down and got cozy in the blanket that Dj bought her and grabbed the remote.

She turned the TV on and went to Netflix scrolling through the different TV shows and Movies.

"Hey Dj? Have you ever seen The Parent Trap?"

"I haven't but i've heard it's good."

"Alrighty then, that's what we are starting with!"

Dj walked over with two cups of hot chocolate with whipped cream on top. Dj sat down on the couch but Katie noticed he didn't have a blanket.

She lifted the blanket turning towards him, "Come onnn, you can't have a moviethon without blankets. This one is big enough for us to share."

Dj happily slid next to Katie and under the blanket. "Thank you!"

"Of course!"

The rest of that day was spent watching movies, tv shows and enjoying each other's company.
