Screaming and crying. That's all Bridgette and Geoff could hear. They have 2 kids under the age of 9 who were currently running around the house screaming and crying for God knows what reason.Bridgette had tried to get them to calm down and tell her what happened but they wouldn't listen. Soon enough, Geoff came into the living room to help. His eyes darted around the room seeing pillows everywhere and 2 crying children.
The youngest child, Shelly, who was 6 came running up to Geoff. She stammered through her voice, trying to breathe from her crying, "H-Henry took my brace-let and broke it!" This so called bracelet she was talking about happened to be a silly band.
Now as a 6 year old, this was devastating, but Geoff quickly came up with an idea. "Well, that wasn't nice on Henry to do. Henry, come over here and apologize to your sister please." Henry groaned and walked over to where Shelly and Geoff were standing, arms crossed the whole time.
"I'm sorry I broke your bracelet."
Shelly wiped her eyes and nose on the sleeve of her shirt. "It's ok-ay."
Geoff looked up to Bridgette who was already looking at him. Geoff pointed to the cabinet next to her. Inside was all sorts of arts and craft things from a long time ago. Bridgette pulled out a few things and brought them over to the kids.
"Hey, look what I found. Now you guys can make your own bracelets." Bridgette set the items on the table but just before the kids went to sit in the chairs, she stopped them. "Not so fast, first you both need to help each other clean up the mess you made with the pillows.
Both kids groaned but walked back over to the living room and began to pick up their mess. Geoff turned towards Bridgette and shook his head while smiling, "What are we going to do with these kids?"
She smiled and leaned her head in his shoulder, "I have no clue, but you know what this is reminding me of?"
"Anddd what's that?"
Bridgette lightly laughed, the memory replaying in her head. "When you made me that awful gift on the island during season 1."
There was an audible groan above her, "I'm never going to get a break from that aren't I? But hey, that's all we had on the island so I made it work. And I obviously did something right because here we are."
Bridgette grabbed Geoff's hand and intertwined their fingers, "Sure did."
They watched as Shelly and Henry finished cleaning up and run back to the table, eager to start their activity.
Shelly spoke up first, already tearing into the packaging, "Can we start now mommy, pleaseeee!"
Bridgette nodded, "Yep! Daddy and I will show you how to set it up." They started helping the kids unwrap and get out beads and string. Bridgette measured their wrists, taped the string down and showed them how to slip the beads onto the string.
While Bridgette was helping Shelly with her bracelet, she noticed Geoff was making one as well. She smiled, adoring that he still had his younger energy still in him.
Geoff finished the bracelet he made and put it in his pocket and started on another one.
After about 5 minutes of Shelly and Henry making their bracelets, they finished and were ready to put them on. Bridgette helped to tie their bracelets together, leaving enough slackness to they could easily slip them on and off.
"See Shelly, isn't this bracelet much better than your other one?"
"Yeah!! This one has flowers and more colors!" Shelly giggled, very proud of herself. Bridgette pulled out her phone and took a picture of the two next to each other. Bridgette was a crafty person and was currently putting together a scrap book.
After Shelly and Henry cleaned up and put the crafts away, they went to go play superhero's in the playroom. This left Geoff and Bridgette alone in the kitchen. Bridgette noticed that Geoff was wearing a different bracelet than what she saw him making earlier.
Just as she was about to ask, Geoff pulled out the smaller bracelet and slipped it over her wrist. It was the date of their wedding anniversary separated by hearts. Bridgette laughed, looking and the bracelet and back at Geoff.
"So this is what you were making."
"Yep!" Geoff was all smiles and pulled Bridgette close to him so she was sitting on his lap. "I'm glad I get to live this life with you."
Bridgette smiled as a slight pink blush formed on her face. "That was so cringy, but me too."
Geoff pulled her into a kiss, when she happily took. This kiss turned into a make out. Bridgette's hands made their way to Geoff's hair while his arms wrapped around her waist.
Suddenly a loud, "Mommy!" was heard from the kids playroom and Bridgette quickly pulled away from Geoff and got off his lap. Shelly appeared from the hallway right as Bridgette stood up.
She cleared her throat and stood straight, doing everything she could not to look at Geoff.
"Can you and daddy come play with us?"
"Of- of course! We will be there in 2 minutes okay?"
"Okay!" Shelly said turning around and making her way back to the playroom. Bridgette relaxed her body and threw her head back.
"That was close," she said before turning to Geoff who had a huge grin on his face. "Ugh don't look at me like that you idiot."
Bridgette started making her way towards the playroom. Before she turned the corner Geoff got up and followed her. "You know you love me babe!"
Bridgette flipped him off and continued walking. Geoff smiled, wondering how he got lucky to be with Bridgette and now have 2 amazing children to raise with her
