Fractured Love

Chapter 16

"Hey, are you guys coming to the party tonight," Tiffany asks as Natalie and I sit down at lunch.

"Of course, you going?," Natalie asks.

"Yeah," Tiffany replies.

"You know I still don't understand the point of this party," I say. There's a big bonfire party being held tonight at the lake for all seniors. It's all anybody has been talking about all week.

"All college applications are now submitted, the party is to symbolise that the end really has begun," Natalie says.

"But the end already began months ago with an early decision," I reply

"She's right, I've already gotten early acceptance to Tulane," Tiffany says. Both Natalie and are I in shock.

"What! TIFFANY, that's amazing!"Natalie says.

"Congrats," I say.

"Did either of you do early decision," She asks.

"Nope," Natalie says.

"I was thinking about but I had so much going on when applications were due that I missed the deadline," I say.

"Hello ladies," Tiffany's friend Brad says as he sits down. 

"So are any of you guys coming to Salt Lake this weekend?" I ask. This weekend is the both state basketball comp and state cheer comp. Both events are being held at the same place in Salt Lake City. Along with both teams the school also invited other students and parents to come along to watch.

"Well as president of the A.V club I have to be there," Brad says. I honestly don't know a whole lot about Brad, other than that he is very passionate about cinematography and loves to make sure people know he is the president of the A.V club.

"We'll be there," Tiffany says.

"Yeah, I'm mean free 3 day trip to the big city, we miss a day of school and a legitimate excuse to not do homework," Nat says.

"What about supporting me," I say.

"I thought that was implied," she says. We then spend the rest of lunch talking about this weekend before eventually drifting back towards tonight's party with Natalie once again trying to convince me to attend. 

"Hey babe," Chase says approaching me as I walk out of school at the end of the day. 

"Hey," I reply before giving him a kiss. He wraps his arm around my shoulders and we begin walking away from school. 

"So you coming tonight?" he asks.

"I'm not sure,"

"Oh come on it'll be fun," he says. 

"Well it's just I have to be up early tomorrow cause we are leaving for the state cheer comp,"

"I know and did you forget that the basketball state championship is the day before," he says. Honestly I have been so focused on the cheer team that I had actually forgotten that the basketball team's comp was being held in the same place. "Look come for at least 30 minutes and if you hate it then we can leave and spend the rest of night just you and me," he says.

"Fine," I eventually agree.

We pull up to the lake and there's already a large crowd of kids dancing, drinking and having fun. Chase leads me down the sand and almost instantly his friends are waving him over. I tell him to go whilst I head to find Tiffany and Natalie.

"You came!" Natalie say as I walk up to her.

"Yeah, you can thank Chase for this," I say.

"Where is he?" Tiffany asks.
