Chapter 17 - The Contest

"Mom wake up!"

The voice of Ryden rang through the cave. Your enormous slitted eyes cracked open and you were greeted with the usual energetic grins of Ryden and Nora.

"It's time to go!" Nora reminded you while raising your cloak, which rested folded in her hands.

You huffed releasing a cold yawn that nearly sent them flying.

"Go where exactly?" You questioned tiredly. The twins looked at you in disbelief.

"To the town!" They both yelled making you wince.

You sighed and looked at the two, "Why?" You could barely keep your eyes open.

Ryden pouted and crossed his arms. "We promised to help Master Makarov today." He continued and you nodded along.

You grumbled a few indecipherable words and snuggled back into yourself. The twins sighed and climbed onto your scaly body.

Once they rested on your head they begin pulling your ears and poking your enormous body. They always had to resort to this when you overslept.

Though you weren't budging.

"MOM!" Their actions were useless as you decided to fall back to sleep anyway.

They huffed at you, you were going to sleep all day!

"I know what to do!" Koi grinned and summoned their wings.

Koi flew towards them and plopped onto your head trying to pry open one of your eyes.

"Wake up sleepy head!" They leaned down so you could see them.

"Go away Koi." You groaned.

Koi sighed. "But if we don't hurry Mira won't buy you sweet bread!" They teased in a sing song tone, you jolted at the thought of the sweet delicacy.

A flash suddenly filled the cave making the three cover their eyes, the twins yelped as they slid off your transforming body. Nora plopped to the ground beside her brother.

Blue glowed off your form once again and Nora felt the fabric of your cloak leave her hands.

The twins peeked to see you fully dressed with Koi on your head and a determined look.

"To the bread!" The twins giggled as you marched out of the cave. They followed and walked with you to the town of Magnolia.

"Thanks so much." Mirajane smiled at the baker standing at his stall.

"Oh, it's no problem at all Miss Mirajane!" He swooned at her darling attitude as she paid.

She waved to the man before walking back towards the group made up of you, the twins and Koi, along with Makarov and Mirajane herself.

You deadpanned at the baker's odd reaction. 'What an oddball.' You thought.

Every stall you all went to the shopkeepers were more than happy to swoon at the sight of the woman.

Though you would admit you nearly swooned yourself when she placed your beloved sweet bread in your bejeweled hands.

You looked down in awe. "You truly are the only one for me." Mirajane grew flustered at your words and harshly slapped your arm.
