Chapter 4 - The Dragon King

"Open your eyes."

You gasped your body jolted upwards. You looked down at your body, you were human. "I-It worked?!"

You turned your head only to meet Adira's shocked face. "Where am I?"

Your question was ignored as Adira hugged you. "I was so worried Y/N. You weren't yourself."

You held her tightly, still stunned. "Adira what happened?"

She looked at you seriously. "So much has happened, I-I don't know where to begin." She backed away before sitting in front of you.

She tried to smile. "I'll start with some good news!"

You cut her off with a look of disbelief. "Adira. Please just get to the point."

Adira hesitated before nodding, "The war or now known as 'The Dragon King Festival' is over. Either side claimed victory."

You looked at her dumbfounded, "Either side? Then what was the outcome? Someone had to have won." Her face turned grim.

"The self-claimed Dragon King won." You went to question her again but she stopped you.

"Please I'll explain everything, I swear! I-Just please let me talk." The stressed look on her face worried you.

You had so many questions, you nodded unsure, hopefully they'd get answered.

"To start, the dragonslayers' magic had a terrible drawback. They began to turn on us and kill other dragons, ironically once they killed a dragon and were exposed to their blood they became dragons themself.

One of those dragonslayers was the Dragon King, Acnologia. He bathed in the blood of every dragon he came across. And soon became a dragon himself. Many died or narrowly escaped him.

Following that, Father is gone. I searched everywhere but after I found you, he... disappeared. I don't want to assume the worse but he left without a trace Grandeeney as well."

Adira sighed her face pressed in her trembling hands.

You grabbed her hands before she could continue, "How about the good news."

Adira looked at you astonished. Even when hearing so much terrible news. You still tried to comfort her. She began to tear up, laughing in disdain.

"When you saved the town, I directed Heiden and the survivors to take refuge at the training grounds. And made my way back to you. But you were gone. I tried looking everywhere as I did for Father but you were nowhere."

You held her close as she nestled into your arms. A smile grew on her face. "I gave birth soon after. A boy, I named him Slush-"

"YOU NAMED HIM SLUSH?!" You pinched at her cheeks as she complained.

"I WAS JOKING!" Rubbing her sore face, she couldn't help but laugh.

It was like you never left. "His real name was Colden. He was so quiet for a child. Heiden and I raised him in the new town at the beach. A few years went by and there was news of a dragon spotted. Headed towards us. And... that dragon was you."

She grimaced, "You were destroying anything in your path. I was able to freeze you using your magic. You... were so emotionless. I led you to the cavern. I-"
