Chapter 23 - The Guilt

Deep into the Worth Woodsea, there is a secluded area. A space the Alliance was struggling to find in the large confines of the forest. It was hard to find because it was nothing extravagant.

You could barely call it much, not even a building, just one of many grottos hidden in the thick green forests. A pit sunken into the chapped ground abandoned by their ancient villagers.

These small shelters were the base of Oración Seis.

Brain's dark boots stamp against the muddy ground as he enters the lair. He lazily raises a hand, summoning a portal, dropping the hostages from their late fight.

Happy shrieked as the two children landed on his small figure, squishing him into the cool ground.

Cobra winces at their fall, "Don't be so rough, they're just kids." He reminds his leader.

Brain ignores him like second nature and takes to glaring at the two frightened children in front of him.

He stepped forward only adding to their fears.

Ryden tried to hold a brave face but the man's cold eyes focused behind him as he wrapped his hand around Wendy's neck and dangled her in the air as if she were a mere animal in his grasp.

"This is our lucky find!" He bellowed.

Ryden stumbles to sit up as the man shakes the girl violently, "Let her go!" He screams.

"WENDY!" Happy recklessly ran to the man, pulling the girl's ankle but the poor cat was swiftly kicked away by Brain.

"Happy!" Ryden hurriedly grabbed the cat, "Are you okay?" He whispered worriedly.

Happy nodded and stood up, "Don't you worry guys! I'll help you outta here!" The two young dragonslayers gazed at the cat in disbelief not expecting such bravery.

Wendy broke her gaze from Happy, once she was suddenly dropped to the ground in front of the tall man.

"What's with the girl, Brain?" Cobra asks in an interested tone, even his hearing couldn't fathom Brain's unpredictable plans.

"Does she have something to do with Nirvana?" Racer assumed.

Cobra scoffed "She hardly seems that important."

Hoteye slammed his book closed, "Ah, I know! You intend to sell her for money, yes?!" He questioned excitedly.

Angel looked at him in disgust. "Isn't there anything else you can think of other than money?" She sneered.

"Money is all you need!" Hoteye exclaimed, Angel rolled her eyes at the man.

Brain spoke up shushing their jabber, "She is a user of a lost magic... one with healing magic."

"HUH?!" The guild was surprised at his words.

"Healing huh?" Cobra spoke up

"So she's going to revive... him?!" Angel questioned before looking down at the girl.

Wendy frowned at all of the eyes on her small frame, she shook in fear. "I-I don't really know what's going on, but I won't help bad people!" She stuttered.

Brain chuckled at her pitiful display of courage. "Oh, you will revive him." The girl shivered at his malicious tone as he turned his gaze to Racer.

"Bring him here." Racer nods at the demand and runs off, returning in minutes with a large black coffin on his back.
