The Next Morning

Cal woke up pretty early, he looked to the left side of the bed and saw Victoria still sleeping. He quietly got out of bed and walked to the closet and changed into his daytime clothes. After, he headed downstairs and into the large kitchen. As he opened up a pantry and grabbed a medium sized glass, he heard a knock on the kitchen door.

"I thought I was the only one up..." Thought Cal.

He approached the door and reached for the handle.
But before he opened it, he could've sworn he heard and felt something or someone breathing heavily on his neck. So he quickly turned around to see, but no one was there.

"What the..?" He muttered.

There was another knock on the door, so Cal finally opened it up.

"What in the actual fuck..." He said.

The room on the other side of the door was different, it wasn't the main hall anymore. Instead, it had a long red carpet and a large golden chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Cal walked through the door, and he finally recognized where he was.
The room was identical to Veltrix's quarters in his castle. Cal continued to look around, and he ended up seeing a decomposed skeleton lying on the floor.

Cal slowly approached the skeleton, and began to feel like he was being watched. Even with the looming idea of someone watching him, he continued to get closer to the skeleton. Once he was close enough, he crouched down next to the skeleton. He then reached his hand out to feel it. But before his fingers came in contact with the skeleton, he felt something tapping on his shoulder. He turned around and saw a man standing behind him. The man was missing the skin of his face and chest, and had a large hole in his chest. At the sight of this, he dropped his glass.

"Cal?" A voice called out to him.

Cal was standing there, staring at the man.

"Cal!"

Cal blinked, and he was standing at the kitchen door. His hand about to grab the doorknob. He turned around and saw Victoria standing behind a counter.

"Huh?" Asked Cal.

"Are you okay? Did you have another vision?" Asked Victoria.

"Yeah..." Replied Cal.

"I'm sorry you're going through this, Cal." Said Victoria.

"It's okay, these things happen to warriors like you and I." Replied Cal.

"But it's different. You said to me that you feel like there's still some of the corruption from that demon arm inside of you. And that worries me, it worries me a lot." Said Victoria.

"Don't be worried, Victoria." Replied Cal.

"But I love you. And because of that, seeing you like this hurts me." Said Victoria.

"I understand that, I really do. But you have to trust me, this whole thing is going to be over soon." Replied Cal.

"I hope so." Said Victoria.

"Well, we have a big day today so I suggest we get ready." Replied Cal.

"Right." Said Victoria.

Victoria walked over to the cabinet, pulling the door open and reaching in to grab two glasses. She then approached Cal and handed him one of the glasses.

"Here." Said Victoria.

"Thanks." Replied Cal.

He walked over to the tap, and began filling his glass up.
