7 In The Morning, "The Bridging Plains"
The team has already departed from the Inn, and were well on their way to the border of Solace. At the moment, they were riding through "The Bridging Plains". The Bridging Plains is like a long bridge between the south entrance of Solace, and the south entrance of Aetheria. The Bridging Plains are so large that it takes hours to reach either entrances, and there were absolutely no settlements or anything of the sort due to the fearsome dwellers that inhabit the plains. They had a long road ahead of them before they officially reached Solace.
"I really wish they didn't leave this area untouched. A town or two along the final stretch would be nice." Said Elijah.
"If they would, they could build along here." Replied Keith.
"What do you mean?" Asked Elijah.
"The Bridging Plains aren't as safe as you'd think, Elijah. Many monstrosities dwell under the surface of the plains, and construction would just piss these creatures off. And even if they managed to build stuff, it would either get destroyed or the people visiting would be terrorized by these monstrosities." Explained Keith.
"What are these monstrosities you speak of?" Asked Elijah.
"There's a few. The most notable one being the Dune Scourge." Replied Keith.
"Never heard of it." Said Elijah.
"Imagine a worm with six legs, mandibles like a mantis, and a tail with a venomous stinger on the end." Replied Keith.
"Sounds like something straight out of a child's nightmare, has anyone tried to kill one of these things?" Asked Elijah.
"Many. But as you can tell, they failed miserably." Replied Keith.
"Let's hope none of these things are in the mood for dinner..." Said Elijah.
"There's so many of these creatures that one of them has to be looking for food. Hell, there might even be new creatures that no one has ever discovered yet." Replied Keith.
"That's reassuring..." Muttered Elijah.
Cal and Victoria were riding side by side behind Elijah and Keith, who were leading the team and looking out along the way.
"They seem to get along well." Said Cal.
"Yeah." Replied Victoria.
"So, what do you think..."
"...of all this?" Asked Cal.
"What? The team being reassembled?" Asked Victoria.
"Yeah, what're your thoughts?" Replied Cal.
"It's definitely something, especially now that Elijah's tagging along." Said Victoria.
"Yeah, but Tessa ain't happy about it..."
"...I still don't know what happened between them. There surely has to be something bigger than just Elijah leaving her to go pursue bounty hunting." Cal Replied.
"I could try and find out, Tessa is quite comfortable around me. Not that I'm saying she isn't around you, but you know, girl to girl talk." Suggested Victoria.
"Good luck with that..." Replied Cal.
Victoria then fell back in the formation, and starting riding next to Tessa.
"Hey." Said Victoria.
Tessa didn't verbally greet her back, she just nodded.
"You mind if I ask you something?" Asked Victoria.
