Golden Trio Era

"Silence!" Dumbledore shouted from the front of the Great Hall, and everyone stopped talking immediately. "Now, I introduce you all to our new defence against the dark arts teacher" He informed, making me lift my head off the table, and focus on the front of the room, curiosity coursing through my entire being. "Professor Tom Riddle!" he announced and as he stood up, I scanned him from head to toe, only one thought circling through my mind: How had I not seen him when I entered the hall?

He stood at a height of 6'4, towering over the other professors. His skin was pale as the moon, his curly brunette hair a stark contrast to it. His eyes were a deep bluey-green, appearing to change shades, as different lights hit them. He looked slim, but if you paid close attention, you'd notice the outline of his muscles and abs, prominent enough to make anyone drool. His tailored black suit screamed wealth and superiority, only making my heart beat faster in my chest, I almost thought it'd burst out of me.

Professor Riddle sat once again, placing his hands on the table. My eyes fell on them as I followed his every movement. That's when my brain actually registered how they look. His hands were large, a multitude of silver rings adorning his slim fingers, and the veins on his hands popped just the right amount. My mind raced with a million dirty thoughts as I stared at his hands. I glanced up for a second, noticing a smirk plastered on his face. That damn smirk aswell-Wait a fucking minute, are my occlumency shields up?! I thought, panicking. I finally turned my gaze away from our attractive new professor, and slipped into my subconscious to check my mental defences. Thank god they're in place.

For the rest of the meal, I didn't look back at him, rather I distracted myself with a book as I ate, until I was joined by the sweet Luna Lovegood. I was very close to her, finding it easy to relate to her and share my thoughts. We'd met in 1st year, but she was shy of talking to me, given that she's a Ravenclaw and I'm a Slytherin. It was at the end of our 2nd year that she worked up the courage to approach and compliment me on my hair, and since then we'd become best friends. Once we finished breakfast, we headed to double potions, the only lesson we would share  today.

Lunch was soon over, and Luna had walked me to the 5th floor, before returning to her dorm. The lucky thing had finished lessons for the day whilst I still had an hour and a half of defence against the dark arts. It is my favourite subject, but lessons without Luna aren't the same. Also, despite him being attractive, there was no telling if he would be a good professor. Salazaar save me if he ends up being an idiot like Gilderoy Lockhart. I cleared my head, pushing the thoughts of professor Riddle deep into my mind. I'm here to learn not lust over  the new teacher of my favourite subject. With that, I stepped into the half-full classroom and I walked straight to the back and taking a seat. Slowly, the rest of the class filed in and we were now just waiting for professor Riddle to show up.

I sighed as we waited, 5 minutes have already gone by. Dear lord, please do not prove him to be incompetent! Just as I finished that thought, he walked in. "Apologies everyone. Professor McGonagall wanted to make sure I was prepared for the lesson" he announced, sounding almost annoyed to be accused of such a thing. He waved his hand and his books were instantly placed on the table and organised. He does wandless magic, cool! He started to teach us about the difference  between an animagus and a werewolf. I played close attention, taking notes on my parchment as he spoke. "Y/N!" He called, making me lift my head and look at him. "Yes, Professor?" I asked, eager to answer the question and move on, I hated the attention being on me.

"Can you tell me how one should react if they were to encounter a werewolf?" He asked, not breaking his stare on me. I avoided his eyes, and thought about my answer. "Do not approach or confront it. Do attempt to talk to the person inside as the werewolf has taken complete control. Erm, don't make any sudden movements, but attempt to divert its attention" I replied. "Yes, well done. 5 points to Slytherin!" he praised  before moving on. The lesson eventually ended and everyone began to leave. "A smart response today, Miss L/N, keep it up and you can easily get an Outstanding in your N.E.W.T.S" Professor Riddle told me as I walked to the front. "Thank you, professor, I'll do my best" I answered with a smile, that he returned, before I began to walk out, failing to notice his eyes glued onto me as I left.
