1940s Era

Y/N Y/LN

I rise early as usual, being met by the dark decor of Malfoy Manor. The summer holidays were almost at their end, and I was excited to begin my first year at Hogwarts. I'd been home schooled by the Malfoys until now, but they finally deemed it acceptable for me to join my adoptive brother Abraxas at the school. Being 14 I'd be joining the 4th year students, and despite my nerves, I knew I'd be ok.

There was only one thing that tore my heart. I missed him so much, but when we were seperated at the orphanage, we were only 8, so I wouldn't know if he remembered me, let alone cared about me. Me and Tom Riddle were inseperable before the Malfoy's adopted me. Not that I wasn't grateful to them for doing so, but because I missed Tom dearly. I'd dream of our reunion every night, which only made the longing intensify. Perhaps someday, I'd find him. Even if he isn't a pureblood, like the Malfoys have told me about, I'd still love him as he is.

1st September

Today is going to be my first day! Mother and Father are busy with work, so have trusted Abraxas to take care of me on the journey. Given that the Malfoys are notorious amongst the wizarding world and seen as one of the oldest and prestigious in history, we travel to Hogwarts in a private carriage. We arrive at the school a shortly after the Hogwarts express makes it to the station in Hogsmeade.

The sight of the castle makes my jaw drop, completely in awe of its sheer magnificence. Abraxas smiles softly at my reaction, taking my hand and leading me into the castle. I look around in wonderment, as we wait for Professor Mcgonagall to appear. When she does, she appears in the form of a cat. Unfortunately for me, before I can pet the adorbale tabby, she transforms into the professor.

I just stare in awe, until she smiles welcomingly. "Y/n Malfoy. I'm professor McGonagall. It's a pleasure to have you here at Hogwarts" she smiles kindly. "Thank you, Professor. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. My brother has told me you're a fantastic teacher, and that he thoroughly enjoys your lessons" I beam in return, ensuring to uphold the eloquence and respect I've been taught by Abraxas' mother.

She laughs a little, commenting on how my brother is very talented in her class. She then asks me to wait here, until she asks me to enter, so that I may get sorted seperate from the first years. I nod in understanding, and Abraxas, ever the protective older brother, hugs me tight, before entering the great hall. It's around 20 minutes later, that McGonagall finally calls me. I follow her into the room, as Professor Dippet, the headmaster introduces me to the school.

I sit on the little stool as instructed, and almost instantly get sorted as a Slytherin. I stand, making my way down the steps. The Slytherin house makes themselves known to me by cheering and clapping, that's when I see him. His eyes are already trained on me, widened in shock. I feel my heart stop for a minute, as I blink a few times to make sure it's him.

Once I feel like this isn't a dream, I abandon all I've been taught, and run across the hall to him. He stands, making his way round the table, just as my body collides into his, my arms wrapped tightly around him. He stands frozen for a few seconds, before reluctantly hugging me back,  just like he used to. "I've missed you so much, Tom Marvolo Riddle!" I mumble into his chest.

Tom Marvolo Riddle

My head snaps up, immediately as I hear her name. My vision is blessed with the sight of my sweet, innocent Y/n, and I suddenly feel an unusually warm feeling within me. When she's sorteed into Slytherin, I'm proud of her, but of course my expression gives away nothing. I can't be seen as weak. I continue to watch as her eyes scan the room for the Slytherin table, and then finally her eyes lock onto mine.

Her breathing slows, and for a second I worry she's stopped breathing. Where have these feelings suddenly come from? She blinks a few times, then grins, running across the room coming in my direction. She didn't forget me? I don't have time to think anything else. My feet suddenly have a mind of their own, and I stand, rounding the table, just as she collides into me, her arms wrapped firmly around me.

I've missed this feeling. Reluctantly, I hug her back, and just about her her mumble that she's missed me. Her face is buried into my chest, but I can see the corner of her lips upturned into a smile. After a few minutes she pulls back, before speaking. "I've missed you so much, Tom! Not one day went by that I didn't think about you. I feared if we ever met again, you wouldn't remember me," she tells me, making me frown at the thought. "I could never forget you, my darling" I whisper to her, so only she hears.

"Let's catch up over dinner, hmm?" she grins. I nod slightly, and she takes  the seat on the bench opposite the space I was previously sat. I return to that spot, and just watch her as she loads her plate with food.

After talking with Y/n for a while, I find out that she was not sent to live with a muggle family, rather the Malfoys took her in. Hearing her say that made him glare at Abraxas, who shrunk back a bit into his seat. We spoke for a long time, catching up and getting to know one another, and by the end of it, I swore she'd be mine forever. I'm going to make her my queen.
