"Nervous about school?" John asked to Aiden, who sat in the backseat, looking out the window.
"A little." Aiden shrugged. It had been a bit since he'd been to school. He knew he'd have a ton of makeup work.
And Peter... God, why was he so worried about Peter? Well he knew why. But Peter was totally straight. He tried forgetting about that "almost kiss", Peter probably just was feeling pressured, and nothing more.
"Your gonna do great kid." John said with a smile.
Aiden smiled back, "Thanks."
They reached the school. The Roberts parked in front to let Aiden out, wishing him a good day. "Call me if you need anything! Alright?"
"I will." Aiden said as he stepped out of the car, facing the cold Christmas air. Aiden keeps forgetting it's December. It doesn't really feel like Christmas.
Midtown High was just a busy and loud as it ever was. It felt weird begin back, it hadn't been that long. But with everything that happened, it felt like it'd been forever. Aiden rolled his eyes at the amount of people, instinctively reached for his headphones from around his neck.
He stopped halfway in his motion when he noticed MJ waving him over to join her, Peter, and Ned at a group of lockers.
Aiden walked over.
"Hey." He said.
"Hey-" "Hey!" Peter cut Mj off, excited to see Aiden.
"Hey Pete" Aiden smiled, there was an awkward silence that followed.
"Sooo... How was the first night?" Ned asked "It was your first night with your foster parents, right?"
"Yeah, it wasn't bad. My room is huge, so that's a plus." Aiden said with a half smile.
Peter contemplated wether he was going to say anything to Aiden. He wanted to so bad, hoping Aiden would confess his undying love to Peter,
Peter was gonna do it. He was gonna ask
Peter opened his mouth to speak
". . ."
"I gotta get to class early, I gotta makeup a test." Peter chickened out, turning to walk away, blushing like crazy.
Aiden, Ned and Mj shared confused looks
"Should we.. go after him?" Ned asked
"Why? It's just a test." Aiden shrugged.
"No, Peter's the fastest test-taker in the class. Something's up." Mj said
"I'll ask." Aiden said
"Thanks for taking one for the team." Mj said, Aiden scoffed as he caught up to Peter.
"Yo! Pete!" Aiden called, catching up to Peter. Peter turned around, eyes widening at the sight of Aiden.
