Faye had Philophobia.
{Philophobia - the fear of falling in love or being in love}
Faye was a beautiful girl, undoubtedly. She was the type of girl that could make complete strangers swoon. She was a tattoo artist. She was really funny. She liked traveling. She had slight anger issues when it came to certain topics. She was kind of a mess but was great at hiding it. The list could practically go on and on forever: that's how special this girl was.
She was the type of person a guy could instantly fall in love with despite her many many flaws: and that scared her more than anything.
She didn't believe in love, in fact she was afraid of it.
Her parents were divorced, they never loved each other. Her brother was in a car accident after drinking too much because the girl he intended to marry broke up with him. She had been cheated on one too many times. Love just never worked out for her or anyone around her. So she turned her hatred for it into an over analyzed fear, and that was the reason she missed out on a lot of experiences.
She missed out on her senior prom, she missed out on a lot of dates, she missed out on the boy with pretty green eyes and curly brown hair that sat across from her on the train, and she almost missed out on those four obnoxious boys: the boys that she helped get over their fears, and the boys who helped her get over her own.
