THE FOLD WAS FAR MORE HORRIBLE THEN ANY MAN, and I've seen some horrible men. The noises coming from the darkness hurt my ears, the screeches and screams.

The Conductor began turning a lever, revealing his cart like transport. "So now we're just waiting on..."

Suddenly I heard Jespers irking voice yelling out, I knew he would do this.

"Wait for me!" His voice rang out as he was being chased by a herd of angry man.

"They can't see the train," there was a strong sense of urgency in the conductor's voice as he took the torch from Inej.

"Jesper get here now! One job, I give him one job," I muttered the last part, filled with anger. I grip my cane of the uneven ground.

"LANDMINES!?!" Jesper practically cried when suddenly a gun shot was aimed near him.

He immediately dropped his lantern and ran, "Oh, wait for me! Don't you go without me!"

Throwing the coal over his shoulder, the Rabbit swung out, secured inside the train by only her one arm, and pulling him inside, practically flying herself and Jesper back in, Inej closed the door behind them.

"Please tell me you have twenty pounds of alabaster coal." The conductor whined.

"Slight snag in the plan," I shook my head at Jesper, "turns out the kid who was helping me buy the coal, didn't exactly know how to uh, buy coal."

"We know you gabbled it," I looked him dead in the eye.

"I lost a little bit of the money... okay I lost all of the money. But I did manage to steal twenty pounds of alabaster coal."

"This is sixteen pounds!" Arken stressed.

"Sixteen pounds of alabaster coal," Jesper seemed far more stressed then The Conductor through his smile.

"Can we do it on sixteen?" I demanded.

"Never been done before."

I looked over at Inej and the Rabbit, whose real name I'd still not bothered to learn. 'she wasn't worth the effort' I told myself. She was sitting dead still on one of the seats holding tightly to it and her new hatchet.

As another gunshot rang out, Arken quickly pulled down seats and urgently yelled for everyone to sit.

"Sit here and Never. Shift. Your. Weight." He said.

As Jesper sat down Rabbit looked over at him, "well if it isn't Mr.Iwon'tgambleawayouronlyhopeofsuccess."

"Shut it," he grumbled.

I took off my coat, sitting in the open seat beside Rabbit.

A boom rang out, "Landmines!" Jesper exclaimed standing back up.

"I thought you said they weren't real," I fumed.

"I said nothing of the sort, I just said I put up the sign myself." The Conductor rushed.

"I'm gonna hack of your limbs and feed them to rats," Rabbit started, absolutely livid, "those landmines-"

But she was cut off the car beginning to move.
