Chapter 44

The next day, Dean and I head out to different parks. It feels weird being separated, but AJ and I need a girls day out and Roman and Dean need a little guy time as well.

"Call me every two seconds." Dean says. "Be careful. And please stay out of trouble."

I give him a doubtful look. "Dean, I'll be fine."

I find it funny how Dean has to tell me....or actually beg me to stay out of trouble when he's usually the one getting me into it. Of course I don't say this to him. I can only imagine what he might start feeling if I say this out of spite.

Instead, I peck his lips softly. "I love you."

"I love you too."

It takes him forever to actually let go of my hand and allow me to get on a separate bus.

"Wow, he's really attached to you."

"I think he's just worried."

"What's up with him lately? He's been acting strange."

"We've been through a lot, AJ. There are so many ups and downs in our relationship. Someone should write a book about us."

"I can already see it now. 'The Most Dysfunctional Relationship You'll Ever See!'"

I give her a look before rolling my eyes. "Come on." I pull her off the bus, outside to the beautiful day.

We walk around for awhile, unsure of what to do. Eventually, we find a small place to sit down.

"Is there something you wanna tell me?"

Oh shit!

"No, why would you ask?"

"Come on, C. We're best friends. I know when something's wrong." My eyes find the ground, locking with it. "You know you can tell me anything, right?"

"I know. I just.....I don't know."

"What is it? That's wrong?"

I sigh. "Seth talked to Brian. He's out of jail now and I don't know how. He showed up at Seth's hotel room 2 days ago trying to convince him all this shit about how our baby's still alive. Same thing he tried to say to Dean."

"Well, is there at least a tiny bit of hope that it could be true?"

"No! Not at all. It's not possible. It can't be. Besides, Seth took a stupid DNA test to try to prove that it's his."

AJ's eyes widen. Okay....maybe I could've left that out.

"His? That's impossible. You only had sex that one time right?" When I don't say a word, she urges, "Right?"

"Maybe. I don't know. There may be a possibility that it happened more than once."

"Maybe? You cheated on Dean?"

"Not on purpose. Seth said that Brian said we were both drugged when it happened. I don't know how, but Bray must've done it."

"Or Seth himself." AJ comment, making my eyes snap up to meet hers.

"What? No! Seth would never do that!"

"Charlie, when are you gonna open your eyes. Seth has done a lot of shit that you thought he'd never do. Why would this be so surprising?"

"Because this is just sick! Whoever did this is sick!"

"Just think about it! Seth wanted you so bad and you continued to reject him. He could've been the one to drug you and now he's trying to make you believe it was someone else."

"Seth was.....Seth is my friend."

"That happens to be madly in love with you."

It makes sense what she's saying, if it were anyone, but Seth. I know Seth didn't do it. Seth couldn't have. I trusted him. He wouldn't do this......right?

I'm crying cause Dean's leaving and just whyyyyyyyy? And I have no idea when he's coming back and like......first AJ left and now Dean's going away. And I know he'll be back, but when? I'm gonna miss him so so much.
