Sorry

I'm so sorry that I let you down,

I never meant to break you apart.

The way I made you believe in me,

It's such a horrible crime of the heart.

You were a comfort jacket,

That I never wore.

You were a mysterious book,

That I never thought to explore.

You built a house for us,

Then watched me burning it up.

I wanted to love you, I swear,

But I'm not the one who can love you

the way you deserved to be loved.

You wanted me to be happy,

While you were crying for me.

I know that apologising to you,

Is something I'm not worthy of.

But I swear one thing to you,

That I'll always pray for you,

That you'll find the love and healing,

That my heart failed to bring.
