CHARLOTTE'S LOUD SCREAMING had woken Bellamy and Thalia. "No!" She shouts in her sleep, Bellamy sits up, placing his hands on her lap. "Charlotte," he says to her softly."I'm sorry," she mumbles, still half asleep. Thalia reaches her hand for hers, wrapping her cold hand around Charlotte's.
Thalia looks at the girl with a soft, reassuring look. "You have nothing to apologize for," she says as her thumb gently rubs against her hand.
Bellamy looks at Charlotte, "does that happen often?" He asks her. She lets out a deep and stressed sigh. "What are you scared of?" She looks at him, hesitant to answer his question.
"Hey," Thea looks at her. "We can help you, whatever it is." She nods to Thalia.
"My parents," she began to speak up. "They were floated, and every time I close my eyes, I—...I see it all over again." Thea looks over at Bellamy, then over back at Charlotte again.
"I know how you feel," she says as she brings her hand up to Charlotte's face, wiping her tears away. "My mother was floated, so was..." she was hesitant to finish her sentence for a moment.
"So was, my sister." Charlotte's eyes lit up, looking at her. Bellamy's face was written with shock and concern.
"Sister?" Charlotte asks her, Thalia nods, confirming what she had said. "But, Bellamy is the only one with a sister."
Thalia smiled at her, "you're right, he is, now." She said, Bellamy had gotten even more confused. "My sister was locked up once I was born, instead of me growing up in a cell, she traded her life." She explained. "Then, once she turned eighteen they ...killed her." Bellamy's head tilted down as Charlotte's hand held onto hers a bit tighter.
"What was her name?" She asked her, her eyes were filled with pity.
"Jazmina," she answered. "Jaz."
