THALIA LAID IN HER BED, recklessly stuck awake. She couldn't help, but replay the pod crashing in her head. Over, and over. Her eyes were bloodshot red, and her freckled cheeks were stained with her cold salty tears.

When you lose a parent, what exactly are you supposed to feel? Loss? Guilt? Rage?. . . In this case, Thalia felt nothing. She felt simply. . . nothing.

She didn't want to feel nothing, although she couldn't control what she felt. Even if it was her own feelings.

When she begun to slowly drift off to sleep, the uprising sun peaked through her tent's flaps.

She let out an exhausted groan, feeling the sunshine prickling on her tan skin.

She sat up, putting her jeans back on, her blue square-neck tank top. Long brown socks that she had sewed herself, a habit she picked up on during the cold restless nights she couldn't sleep through. And, her boots, a pair of boots she also made herself.

Shearling-sheepskin.

Once her jacket was covering her cold arms, and her, new, knife was slid into its sheath and placed into her belt. She begun to make her way out of her tent.

Dylan had seen her exit her tent, and the extreme rush of worry drenched his veins. He rushed his way over to her, practically shoving aside multiple people.

"Thea!" Dylan abruptly shouted.

She turned her head, seeing the boy approaching her side. "Hey, Dylan." She smiled.

"Hey. . . I- I heard about your dad, I'mI'm so sorry." His voice filled with apologetic sorrow, it only made her feel worse.
