"Clippity-clop, diggity-dop, flippity-flop, hoppity-top, don't stop," the dirty ragged boy sang as he accompanied the heavily laden donkey up a steep incline over cobblestones.

Highly irritated at this eternally optimistic singing, the donkey stopped. He has had enough. Life was a burden, and there was nothing but work until you died.
His face lengthened and with a sour expression he asked, "what do you have to be so happy for?"
"Life is good and full of possibilities," the boy answered.

The donkey shook his head and mumbled, "wait until you get to my age, you'll sing a different tune altogether."
