Chapter 9

Lizzy was stood at the center completely wreathed in fire, like a figured silhouetted by the sun, she wasn't burning or hurting from it but her arms seemed longer, her hands were bigger, a long tail slumped behind her, her hair had grown slightly past her ankles and her eyes were a bright white. A zigzag like mouth and horns to finish off her look. "Gavan?! Your awake! Good" Lilith said. "I'll spare you the details but you probably already deduced that that's Lizzy, but we aren't sure what's going on" She adds. I without thinking hop down to the courtyard and her head cocks toward my direction before my feet even touch the ground. "Lizzy? You in there?" I said. Her jaw then goes slack and she darts in front of me. I foolishly attack and I would soon regret this... BOOM! My own blow was dealt right back but with way more force! "Cough... what the hell?!" I yell. The others come down and yell to me. "She seems to absorb blows after provoking her target to deal them back out at double the potency!" Lilith yells. "So no matter what don't attack just defend and she should be almost harmless for your skill set!" She adds. POW! She then threw a punch but I guarded against it and barely felt it... so no matter what until we figure out what's happening she's practically untouchable unless we wanna feel our own strikes blasted back at us. Suddenly Sihlus steps in and BAM! Punched her in the head which then results in Sihlus' head being blowing off. He then jumps away and his head reforms. "I'll trade blows with her, I won't be inconvenienced by them in the slightest so I'll keep her distracted" Sihlus said. Lizzy's head now aimed and focused on Sihlus she charges him but gets her arm struck! BAM! Each time Sihlus strikes a part of her body it's reflected back onto him at double the force. Each strike lets off a echoing shockwave that sounds like an explosion. "Thank god I don't die, otherwise I'd have been dead already... besides, why'd you attack your master?" Sihlus asks. "..." she just gives him a blank stare. "I ASKED A QUESTION! Why'd you attack our Master?!" He shouts. Sihlus' body glows his dark purple aura because his temper is spiking since he hates the idea of Lizzy potentially killing me. "Master... hurt... YOU HURT HIM!" She screams. Sihlus' glow drops and he dodged as Lizzy dove over him. "Shit! Not the result I was hoping!" He panics. I run to the others and we all watch as Sihlus is no longer attacking and desperately trying to evade Lizzy's strikes while maintaining the conflict to a 10 meter radius to avoid damage to the academy. "Hey! Lilith! What's with her anyway?" I asked. "It's her DNA or genetics or something! But her ability is coming from something else... or... rather her subconscious mind" Lilith said. "She's disappointed with herself in truth because you've always saved her and not the other way around, so her guilt gave manifest to a power capable of rivaling even the most powerful figures in history and fucking Time even!" Lizzy out of nowhere goes to lunge at us but is pinned by spikes. Cristen was still up by our room and was casting some kind of seal. Suddenly I hear Cristen's voice loud and clearly. "Lizzy... look up at your master... he's worried... you have him frightened dear..." She said. The flames die down and Lizzy returns to her normal self albeit naked from her clothing being burned. I quickly take off my top and wrap her in it and hold her. "Here" Sihlus forms a long strand of cloth from his flesh and he drapes it over her. Her eyes slowly open and she starts crying. "I'm sorry!" She cries. She starts crying like a newborn from the fear of almost killing me. "Shhhhh... it's alright" I look up and Cristen smiles. Later we take Lizzy into bed and we lay her down. "Sigh... she's running a mild illness or fever but she'll recover quickly, I'm just glad I could help" Cristen said. She tries to turn away but Lizzy grabs her hand. "You don't have to feel unloved or unwanted... your his wife after all... me, you, Sinixia, Lilith and Lin all love him deeply" Lizzy smiles. "Mama!" Ina comes into the room and runs to Lizzy. "Hi Ina... sorry to trouble everyone" Lizzy said. Cristen then smiles and sits down beside them. "She'll be better soon, until then Gavan why don't we let Ina keep her company while we go gather some herbs and brew some tea for her?" Cristen asks. "Sure thing!" I say. Cristen grabs a basket and a book of ingredients and recipes to take with us to the garden and alchemy hall. "Oh over here!" We gathered some herbs for Lizzy to make some medicine for her. As we gather herbs I'm still haunted by the form Lizzy took and the frightening power she possessed... the ability to counter everything throw at her and reflect it with more power and force... it's like her demonic powers are really showing. She may be a Succubus but she's still a demon, she's far from the weakest of demons, some might even say she's among some of the most powerful. I could tell though that she was still herself, albeit a little hazy when she was like that. After we gathered the ingredients we walked through a back passage in the academy before Cristen stopped. "Gavan..." Cristen asks. "Yes honey?" I reply. She turns around and smirks at me. "I love you" She said. "Awww I love you too sweetie"I smiled. She walks up to me and takes the basket from my hand and sets it down, she places two barriers beside us blocking off the alley way. "Honey? Is everything okay?" I asked. "I was a great dragon once..." She said. I think she's pissed about something now. Her voice grows louder. "I was a creature to be feared!" She shouts. "I was a great beast of the skies!" Her arms form her natural scales around them and her claws grow out. Her tail grows out and so do her wings. She backs me into the wall and digs her claws into the wall. I'm worried she's about to eat me. "I was a god... and now..." she then gets down and rubs against my groin. As we enter though a GIANT black and white cat sits in the room, standing in his hind legs, Little arms, a big puffy tail, big fluffy ears and big whiskers. "Huuuuh? Is that a cat?!" I ask. "I am Yami to hikari no dai madō-shi Sannisho, but you can call me Shu" he said. "He's the grand archmage of Light and Dark, he's part of the academy too but he likes to spend 70% of his day acting like a lousy cat!" Lin yells. "Gasp! Preposterous! I was granted this powers by no choice or my own, therefore I will still do as I wish but my natural cat instinct remains the same... sleep where I want, sit where I want and meow when I'm hungry!" Shu said. Lin then kicks Shu in the stomach. "Alright you giant loaf! You hungry then?! Let's get you some food" Lin said. "Meow! Foooooood!!!!" Shu shouts. As the day goes by Lizzy still remains in bed. Her temperature is high still from the strain put on her body. She's asleep but I kissed her forehead. "She's important to all of us, I see why she was upset though, you were always the one to save her" Cristen said. Ina walks over and looks at Lizzy. "Is mama gonna be okay?" She asked. "She'll be alright Ina, hey why don't we go get some food for her and the rest of us?" Cristen said. "Okay!" Ina smiles. Cristen holds Ina's hand as they walk out of the room. I stay behind as everyone goes off and does some other errands. My mom and dad still hold a constant grip on my consciousness... they might be terrified right now... being abducted has them terrified for their lives... I dread to think what's happening to them... but this pendant I wear tells me they're still alive... and that man who attacked the village and took them... I swear it I'll find him... he'll pay for causing this chaos. Whoever he is... I'll kill him! Later as the day grows on I still think about what might happen if a war of dragond breaks out... most citizens won't be able to fight them... the ancient dragons will do there part to help I feel but... what remains of them is very little... only a few hundred or less remain... and I'm in love with one. None the less I shrug this thought off and stand up. I was told by Krathep that there's an old ruin south of the mountains... deep within the valley hidden underground is a labyrinth of sorts... he said I may find some answer there as to who my mystery enemy is... or... rather a way to gaze into time and see who they are... or what they are. So... for now I wait for Lizzy to recover, then me and all the girls will set out to find this place... dangerous as it may be... their all capable of battle, especially Lizzy and Cristen. We all finally make it to the crypt that should give me some insight on my enemy. The ruins are old, far older than any previously known kingdoms, but why did this place succumb to such decay and destruction. We venture inside, a few torches lit and weapons at the ready. A few skeletons stood in our way but we made short work of them, cutting them down with little to no effort. Eventually we reach the center, and in the center sits a great stone throne, a spirit sits upon that throne. It looks up at me, without me saying a word it shows me what I want to know... "thy enemy..." it holds up its hand. Denris is seen... that coward used his own people as a decoy and razed his own kingdom in flames! We all make haste back to the academy to find a small band of soldiers in the way... and Denris' Elite Guard, Ortheil and Finirel. Clad in fully plated armor and brandishing their weapons. "We were hoping you wouldn't make it this far, we wanted it to be a peaceful end for you but you had to go seeking answers, now you have to die" Orthiel said. I stand there... fists clenched... blood dripping from my hands. "You... you monsters torched your own Kingdom, the people that loved you! FOR WHAT!?" I shout. "To resurrect the ancient Dragon Kalamur, the World End, Denris plans to use his soul, fuse with it and revive the beast, then he'll have all the power in the world to rule this pathetic world" Firinel said. "Girls... stay back..." I said. The ground is a greenish yellow, the sky is grey as clouds roll in. Rain begins pouring. "Where is my mom and dad" I ask. "Huh? You mean you want to know where your parents are of all things?" Orthiel said. I remain silent. "There being held captive by Denris, turns out your mother knows the magic Denris is after" Firinel said. "She's not the only one with knowledge of forbidden magic" I said. They narrow their gazes at me when suddenly... KABOOM! A explosion goes off. Orthiel shields them from the blast. "You may have magic, but we have that and skill, you'll die here, and nobody is gonna save you!" Orthiel charges. Crack... his hand began to crack and ooze a black smoke. "I gave all my strength just now in exchange for one power... the dragon they called Alhzauris... the rot fiend" I said. I then draw the moonlight blade and clash blades with Orthiel. "What manner of devilry is this, you mean to say that your family is somehow able to contact that wretched beast!" Firinel said. "Yes, Alhzauris the Plague, the ancient dragon of the darkest magics" I said. Orthiel jumps back and slices off his hand. Then his hand regenerates. "You're no longer human... you're a monster, a being with no soul" Orthiel said. A black shadow looms over me as a black smoke and purple flames rolls in. "Says the regenerator and the zombie" I said. Clash! The three of us start fighting, Firinel is firing at me with arrows while Orthiel pressures me with his shield and pole mace. Clash! Clang! My speed is now greatly diminished, but a single strike now deals considerable damage. "Gavan!" Cristen yells. Suddenly Firinel fires an arrow with an explosive toward them! BOOM! Sihlus luckily shielded them all from it. "I've got them, don't worry, they're safe with me" Sihlus said. "How many of you freaks are there?" Orthiel asked. "..." They stare at me. "ANSWER ME!" He shouts. "Laas" A wave is emitted causing Orthiel's armor to crack and start breaking. "Firinel, aim for his head!" He said. Firinel starts to fire a barrage of arrows but they're being deflected. A faint massive hand can be seen in front of me. It vanishes into the fog. "Have you noticed yet, the fog has grown heavy enough for his shadow to manifest as a partially physical being, his arms, his legs, his eyes and wings are at my command, he and I have a common enemy, that is why he sides with me... he hates the wicked and the evil, so he uses evil against evil" I said. "Don't make me kill you two, I knew you both well to know that you always talked about more honorable things... I beg you... with what humanity I have right now... don't throw away your lives for a madman" I plead. "Raaaah!" Orthiel charges me... then his body begins to break and decay. "What's... going on?!" He said. "Alhzauris' power... Absolute denial... it completely shuts off any lesser beings magics... rendering them human... including you" I said. Orthiel falls apart as parts of his armor fall to the ground and roll. "Orthiel...?" Firinel said. "Run... don't try to fight, please" I beg again. Firinel knocks back an arrow... CHOMP! Sadly it's too late, Alhzauris' head bites off Firinel's upper body and causes his lower half to spew and gush blood. Thud! His remains fall to the ground. The smoke vanishes and so too the flames. We return to the academy and inform Shu of what happened... I however go to the chambers and shut the door. I now constantly feel his eyes trained upon me. My powers now replaced by Alhzauris' powers... he watches me... and when I shut my eyes for even a moment. I see his horrifying face. Rigged black scales, with a purple glow, grey underbelly, yellowish black horns with one broken, a stretched back mouth causing his teeth to always be visible... and his soulless white eyes... Alhzauris will haunt me until Denris no longer lives... but even now I feel... scared... no powers of my own and a fatigue that has severely slowed down my reflexes. "Alhzauris... can you see me?" I ask. "..." the silence is deafening, but once I said that he vanished and the feeling of unease washes away. Suddenly a hand touches my shoulder. It's Cristen and the girls. Their all looking at my curled in the corner of the room... I'm drenched in sweat, eyes, hands are shaky and my skin is ice cold. "C'mon, let's try to get you a little distracted from your mind, girls, can one of you make sure the door is locked?" Cristen said. They lock they door and all of them strip and lie with me in bed. I'm still in clothing but I take my shirt off. My muscle mass has severely deteriorated now too. Everything I had before hand strength wise has gone away, but my will still remains. I will kill Denris and save my parents... he will suffer for what he's done. "Are you feeling a little better?" Cristen asks. "Yeah... thank you, I love you all, it means a lot to be comforted by you girls" I said. No matter how much they comfort me though... when my eyes close... he watches me.
