Chapter 19 ♦ Welcome back

Talay's POV

Boat was seriously keeping his word and stayed with me everyday for twenty-four hours. I was wondering if he just can't trust me or he is serious about making me fall for him which is almost impossible for me right now.

When he was asleep, I tried to at least find his phone to know what's happening outside. He watches the news with me but in TV you don't usually learn everything. They just tell you what they want.

I found his phone in his bathroom and looked at social media. Okay, that shouldn't be the first thing on my mind but I needed to make sure that Sand is still active. I'm still worried after what happened at Y.O.L.O.

He just post a photo with some boy... I had the urge to crush the phone because I knew this person very well... Ray, a longtime drug addict with a well-known father... he is not as bad as Top but he's not the one I wanted Sand to find as well!

"What are you doing here?" Suddenly Boat appeared behind my back without me noticing.

"Sorry... I really needed to use a phone but mine stayed at my place and you wouldn't even let me use it." He looked at the post.

"Wait, that's Ray..."

"You know him too?"

"Drug addict..." Of course you know this.

"He's with Sand... I'm really worried, Boat." He bowed his head.

"You really want to see him, don't you?" I nooded.

"I just want to make sure that Ray is not the same like he used to be."

"And I know that Ray has connection with Top so meeting him would be a good chance to find that jerk."

"With Top?! No way! What if Sand doesn't know?!"

"Don't panic. Top has someone else... someone connected to Ray."

"So he's two-timing! I need to tell him!" He looked annoyed.

"Well, that'd be nothing you didn't do and not everyone is the same but those drugs... I hate them."

"Boat, can you let me meet him? Just for a second..."

"I'll let you talk to him. I don't want to control you but I hope... you won't leave me." He touched my hand and I let him. If he keeps his word and let me meet him... I will be grateful to him.

"And how will we do that?"

"If Sand is looking for you and is with Ray... they should be trying to find me already. Maybe they'll go to the drug den everyday just to get some information."

"You believe in Ray too much and how are you so sure that Sand is looking for me?" He leaned his face closer to mine.

"I would look for you too and if he really loved you... I don't doubt it. But now it looks like he's trying to move on so don't ruin it for him." I crossed my arms and moved closer to him.

"Don't act like you are better than me, drug addicts killer." He pushed me to the wall and placed his hand on my chest.

"Your heartbeat is faster." I grabbed his hand and moved it away.

"That's because you are giving me chills!"

"Are you sure?" He whispered to my ear and I stepped on his foot. Than I ran away to his kittens.

"Bleehh, you'll never get me!" I stuck out my tongue at him and cuddled his cats. He smiled and shook his head. Acting immaturely works well on him.

The next day Boat let me go to his "work". He wrapped his arms around my neck and told me that it's better for my safety but I knew that was just an excuse to touch me. He didn't want to leave my side so I had to watch him injecting those desperate zombies.
