I was just waking up when I heard the doorbell ring. My husband wasn't next to me so I assumed he was already downstairs with the girls. I just layed back down knowing my husband would answer the door. It was probobly somebody from work dropping off "the book" I drifted off back into my dreamland, were coinsidently all I dreamed of was babies. I couldn't wait to meet my new son. I heard the door creak open and footsteps. "Miranda you got a very important letter about the Emily situation." I rolled over and sat up way to quickly that my baby didnt like, so he decided to make me throw up into a brown paper bag I had just in case. "Miranda, are you alright." he asked me in a scared tone. "Yeah. The baby just didn't like me sitting up way to fast. Thanks for bringing up the letter to me sweetheart, but not to badger but did you happen to bring up some food." I said in a shy tone, but tierd tone. "I did. Here is some pancakes, eggs, and sausage." Steve set the tray down over my legs in front of my still small baby bump. "Thanks sweetheart. What does the letter say." He gave me a confused look. Steve handed me the letter, and it was unopend. Usually he opens my mail. I didn't mind at all. I ripped open the letter and read it aloud to my husband.
"Dear Miranda Priestly,
We wanted to tell you that the trial is tomorrow, and Nigel has requested to support you. The trial will be held at 2:30. Remember that this Trial is MANDITORY.
Thanks,
New York Courthouse staff"
I was accepting of the fact that I wouldnt have to miss my family vacation. "Miranda your Doctors appointment is tomorrow at 2:30 and this appointment is for you to get the all clear to go to Madrid." Steve said pulling me into a hug. "OH MY GOD. I completly forgot about that appointment. I will see if I can reschedule the appointment." Steve gave me a blank stare. "Miranda we leave for Madrid the day after the trial when are you going to reschedule the appointment for." I could sense he was getting nervous and frustrated. "I will see what Doctor Mathews has available." I finished my breakfast and went to get dressed with my husbands help. The twins ran to me as I stepped off the last step I was pulled into a tight bear hug with my daughters. I felt something weird happen in my stomach, so I had the girls let go. "Honey are you alright." I realized that it was just the baby kicking. I had to get to work, because I was already ten minutes late. The driver started the car and knew exactly were to go without me having to tell him. When I arrived at work I immediatly sat down at my computer and sent an email to my docter.
"Doctor Mathews,
Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if I could reschedule my appointment for later today. I had something really important come up.
Thanks,
Miranda Priestly"
I just sat at my desk anxsious about what the answer is about the appointment. Andrea braught me a sparkeling water and the newspaper before asking me if I wanted to see Nigel. I told her no just as my computer lit up with a new message. I opend it immediatly. It read
"Miranda Priestly
I am sorry to inform you but I have no available times but the 2:30. I have openings tomorrow thats all.
Best wishes
Doctor Mathews"
I am screwd. I cant change the time of the trial, but I need the appointment. My husband is going to kill me because I am not going to the doctors appointment. I don't know if the jet and the baby will agree with me not knowing if I am okay. I decided to go home and get some sleep before tomorrows trial gets underway. My baby boy is going to get to be in a trial before hes even born.
