A few days later...
Location - Tsukinomori Girls Academy, Hallway
Mutsumi's POV
It was a new day at Tsukinomori Girls Academy. It was sunny, but it was chilly as well. Despite everyone being in a good mood because of the weather, I wasn't in a good mood. For the last few days, I kept thinking about (Y/N), and his past story he told me before being my next door neighbor.
He is such a good person... how could people break his world like that? It's like there's someone out there who wants him to be sad and miserable for the rest of his life.
I remember what he said to me from the I saw him...

"And that's what happened." I said as I finished my story.
"What a sad story..." Mutsumi said softly.
"Yeah, I know it is." I sighed.
"Is there... anything I can do to help you get through this?" She asked.
"No, I don't think so..." I sighed.
"Are you sure? Surely there's something I can do to help you."
"Sorry, Mutsumi, but... I think I want to be alone now."
Her eyes widened by response, but she protest my request. She let out a sigh.
"I understand. If you ever want to talk to me, my house is next door."
And with that, Mutsumi walked away, leaving me alone by my own house.

Mutsumi's POV
It broke my heart to see (Y/N) upset like that. I've barely known him, yet all I can think about is wanting to help him. But the question is... how do I do it?
"Mutsumi-chan!"
I heard someone calling out to me. I turned around and I see Soyo smiling at me like she always does.
"Soyo?"
"You're heading to lunch now, right?"
"Yeah, are you?"
"You bet. Want to eat lunch together?"
Even though Soyo and I are no longer in CRYCHIC together, it's nice to know that she's still willing to hangout with me.
"Sure." I said softly.
"Great, let's head outside then!"

Soyo and I were outside eating our bentos at our usual spot. But as I said before, despite the sunny weather, it was still cold outside, and I can tell that poor Soyo was feeling it.
"Hehe, it sure has gotten colder nowadays, huh?" She said.
"Yeah, guess so."
"Aren't you cold, Mutsumi-chan?"
"Not really."
"You're not?! Amazing!"
Soyo rambled on for a while, but I wasn't listening ro to her.
"Mutsumi-chan, are you okay?"
I guess she noticed I wasn't listening to her again, and checked on me. And like last time, I decided to come clean.
"It's about (Y/N) actually." I began to speak.
"(Y/N)?" She questioned.
"You know, the boy mext door?" I replied.
"Oh yeah, that boy."' She said. "Did something happen to him?"
I let out a sigh as I told her about (Y/N)'s backstory. After I finished telling the story, Soyo's face fell.
"Oh, wow, that is a sad story..."
"Yeah. I want to help him, but he refused." I said as I looked down at the ground.
"Well..." Soyo said while pondering. "You can try to be his source of comfort."
"Source of comfort?"
"Yep. He might not need your help at the moment, but you can let me know you let him know that you'll be there for him when he is ready."
I didn't think about it like that. Even though (Y/N) told me his story, I still want to be there for him in case he wants to talk about it more. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have Soyo has my friend.
"Thanks, Soyo. Now I know what I got to do."
"Good to know."

Your POV
After having a long and exhausting day with school and work, I just went home and laid down on the couch, getting some much needed rest. I didn't even have the energy to play the guitar.
While resting, someone knocked on my door. Well, that got my attention. I got up and open it. It was Mutsumi.
"Mutsumi? What brings you here?" I asked.
"I want to apologize for being so pushy a few days ago." She said. "It's just that your story really got to me, you know?"
"Oh, I see."
"And even though you told me already, I want you to know that I want to be here for you in case you want to talk about it even more."
I saw a smile on Mutsumi's face, and I couldn't help but smile back. She really does want to be there for me, and I can't say no to that.
"Okay, thanks."
Mutsumi nodded before going back to her house. I smiled as I watched her walked away. Thank you, Mutsumi, for giving me the assurance I needed.
