The following weekend...

Location - Wakaba Residence, Living Room

Mutsumi's POV

It has been a week since (Y/N) and I hung out for the whole day. He took me to his favorite cafe, then he took me to other places that he likes very much. I felt like he and I have gotten closer as the days goes by, and I hope that feeling never changes.

However, this weekend is now a quiet one, and I am in the living room practicing my guitar once again. Just because I am not in a band anymore, that doesn't mean I should stop playing the guitar. Little did I know that will change when a certain someone came to pay me a visit.

"Mutsumi-san, you have a visitor." My maid said as she walk towards me.

I was confused by what she was talking about. I wasn't expecting anyone to come over. The person walked over towards me, and saw Saki standing beside the maid.

"It's good to see you, Mutsumi." She said.

"Saki, what are you doing here?" I asked in confusion.

"I wanted to ask if you thought about the offer I made to you last week since you never gave me your answer." She said.

That's right, I guess I was so busy bonding with (Y/N) that I have completely forgotten all about it.

"Sorry, but I don't have an answer at the moment." I told her.

"Oh, I see."

"May I ask something, though?"

"What is it?"

"What is this new persona you mentioned over the phone? You've barely mentioned it before." I said.

"Right, so the band I am putting together is called Ave Mujica, and unlike the other bands, we'll be wearing masks to hide our true identities." She said.

"Wearing a mask?"

"That's right. I decided to say goodbye to my past self, and I am going to embrace the future with my new persona."

Saki walked closer towards me.

"As the best guitarist I know, it would make me happy if you walked along this new path with me." She said as she looks me with a gentle smile.

I thought about her offer again.

"Can you give me more time to think about it?" I asked.

Saki nodded.

"Very well. But don't keep me waiting, though, okay?"

I nodded as Saki left my place. As soon as she was gone, I looked down at my guitar and thought about her offer again. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about her offer when she first mentioned it to me. I really wasn't sure about it at the start, but... what's stopping me? CRYCHIC is the thing of the past, and Soyo seems to be doing well with her band, and then there's...

"(Y/N)..."

I think I know what I want to do now...

The next day...

Saki returned once again, and this time, she and I are on the couch drinking some tea that the maid was kind enough to give. I know the reason for Saki being here, and this time, I am ready to give her my answer.

"You probably already know why I'm here, so I'll get straight to the point-" Saki started to speak before cutting her off.

"I'll do it."

"Huh?"

"I'll be the new guitarist for your band."

"You sure you want to?" She asked. "You do realize that once we start, there's no going back, right?"

I nodded.

"Yeah, I am sure, because..."

"Because?"

"I can tell that you're experiencing a lot of emotional pain..."

Saki's eyes have widened the moment I mentioned that she is suffering from some kind of pain. I don't know what kind of pain she's dealing with, but her expression tells that I was right. Nonetheless, she did her best to maintain her composure as she spoke to me again.

"I wouldn't expect anything less from one of my childhood friends." She said before giving me a serious look. "But I am saying goodbye to past self."

"Your past self?"

"That's right... The Sakiko you grew up with no longer."

She looked at me before saying...

"It's time for Oblivionis to make an appearance."
