"These are the pieces that you can choose from," a woman accompanied by two security guards said, opening the three velvety boxes which had diamond tennis necklaces.
"Thank you," I responded, scanning my eyes over the shimmery necklaces.
Raymond stood in the corner of the room, fully dressed in an all-black suit and adorned with Cuban links that were paired with chunky diamond rings.
Today marked the launch of his brand deal which was a significant event that had been highlighted in our contractual agreement.
He had inked a partnership with a prestigious luxury jewellery brand, Beaumont and Co. It was also the same deal that his PR team was adamant about him not losing over the incident two months ago.
Beaumont and Co. was a big deal and him being chosen by them as the first celebrity to collaborate on a jewelry line was a monumental achievement for him.
The line they were having a launch for was called "$killz x Beaumont" and it consisted of tennis necklaces and Cuban link diamond chain designs that were designed with Raymond's creative direction.
One necklace in particular caught my attention. Unlike the other necklaces, this specific one was a graduated diamond necklace featuring round brilliant cut diamonds.
"This one," I pointed to it, satisfied with my decision.
"Good choice," she said, "what do you think?" She looked towards Raymond.
He gave a head nod, "Yeah, it's a good choice."
The lady proceeded to put it around my neck and clasp it. My hair was styled in a high bun with curly stands on each side of my face. This was to make sure my hair didn't stand in the way of me displaying the necklace from all angles.
"And you're good to go," she announced, giving us the go-ahead.
"Thank you."
I stood up from the chair, making sure that my black strapless mermaid dresses draped correctly. The dress was made from plain satin and didn't have any shiny embellishments, because all focus had to be placed on my neck.
Raymond walked over to me and took hold of my hand so that we could walk hand-in-hand to our ride which had been waiting for us.
On our way to the venue, I used that time to take selfies. Raymond watched me the entire time before he held his hand out to me.
"Let me take some," he kindly offered.
I handed him my phone and struck various poses for him to take pictures of me. He made sure to change angles while doing so and I did not doubt that the pictures would look good.
He handed my phone back to me.
"Thank you," I said, beginning to go through the images.
"No problem," he said.
