Aurora walked towards the Hub, a tall building in the middle of the city, it's where the choosing ceremony undergoes. She was nervous, she still had no idea what she wanted to do. Her family had come along with her for support, her father and Leo in front and her and her mother behind, holding hands.

There were five lines, to indicate 5 different factions. Lines of people, all there to do the same thing, seal their fate. She took a deep breathe in, indicating that she was scared. Her mother squeezed her hand, Aurora looking up to meet her eyes. "Your going to be fine Rory" her mother said reassuring the girl.

"We're you scared for your choosing ceremony?" Aurora asked blankly to her mother. The girl knew her mum was a dauntless transfer, she left the faction to be with her dad.

"No" she replied simply. "I was terrified" she chuckled. Earning a laugh to come out of auroras mouth as well. The girl felt safe, she knew that no matter what she decided today, her family would always love her.

When they first entered the building, it was like a rainbow, each faction were sitting around a stage that had 5 bowls placed in the middle. Candor, containing glass. Erudite, containing water. Amity containing soil. Abnegation, containing grey stones and dauntless, containing burning coals. You could tell which factions were which up in the stands, each wearing their representative colours, with a clear division between each group.

Aurora followed her parents to a seat up in the stands, looking around at all the different characters in the room. While waiting for the ceremony to begin she noticed two dauntless members playfully fighting, she couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the sight of it.

Marcus Eaton, the leader of abnegation, stood up and made his way towards the centre of the stage and began his speech. "When you leave this room, you will no longer be dependants, but full pledged members of our society" Aurora felt her self go stiff, she was nervous but she now knew what she was going to do. "Faction before blood" he said in a tone, the rest of the people in the building repeating it back to him, sounding like a cult.

Leo looked over to his little sister and gave her an approving nod, mouthing the words 'I love you', Aurora returned a smile before taking in a deep breath.

Marcus began to call names out, starting at the end of the alphabet, Aurora knew she didn't have long until she would be called up.

"Aurora Vilana" he said with a blank face. She walked up grabbing a silver dagger. She then walked over towards the five bowls and took a deep breath in. She ran the blade along the palm of her hand, not deep enough for it to scar, but enough for blood to be drawn. She held her hand up looking over all of her options. Stretching her hand out to the bowl at the end. As a single drop of blood dropped, the sound of sizzling coals could be heard. "Dauntless!" Marcus cheered.

As Aurora turned around she was met with the group of dauntless cheering, walking towards the group she looked up towards her family, seeing them all giving her an approving nod. She was met with a pat on the back by a tall dark skinned boy, "welcome" he cheered, she smiled back.

"Thank you!" She said happily, taking the empty seat next to him. As the rest of the groups names were called.

At the end of the ceremony, the dauntless were the first to leave, quickly standing up and following behind the crowd, Aurora felt a rush of freedom come over her body as they began to run. She felt herself let go, and Riley the adrenaline take over her body, she thrives on the feeling.

Aurora kept up with the pack, she was quite fit already, but not up to the standards she needed to be. As they reached a few pillars that lead up to the train tracks, she watched as the dauntless began to climb. She followed quickly behind, taking on the pillar with out a sweat. Her and Leo used to race through the fields and climb the trees back home all the time, this was no different.

As she reached the top and stood up, she felt the wind blow her red hair back, feeling the cool air she smiled. Hearing the horn of a train quickly snapped her back to reality, noticing that the group was starting to run, she followed behind.

The train was fast, faster than Aurora could run. She knew she needed to get into a cart as quickly as possible if she didn't want to be left behind and become factionless. As she seen an opening she quickly grabbed onto the handle of the door, swinging her body up gracefully and landing on two feet. She let out a heavy breath of relief.

"Scary right?" She heard a girl say from behind her. Aurora turned her body to see a skinny brown haired girl, dressed in white clothing, indicating she was from candor.

Aurora laughed, looking around herself at all the other initiates, there was 9 of them. 10 to begin with, but a small abnegation girl could not get into the train in time, and was left at the edge of the platform. "I'm Aurora" she said, putting her hand out.

"Madeline" she said with a smile. The wind almost taking her back as the train gained speed.

"I think we should sit down, be easier with the wind" Aurora suggested to her friend, both of them sitting down with the back towards the wall. As she looked in front of her on the opposite side, sat a blonde boy with blue eyes, they made eye contact, him sending a friendly smile to Aurora.
