"Sky, darling, please stop pacing."
"Why hasn't she reached out yet? Is this her way of saying no?"
Prapai sighed. Sky had brought him dinner at work and had stayed while he finished up for the day. However, it had been almost a week since they had spoken to Rena and Sky was getting antsy.
"She just needs time. We gave her a lot to process."
"But she wants us! Doesn't she?"
He beckoned Sky over, pulled him onto his lap and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"She liked us both individually, but being in a three-way relationship most likely hadn't crossed her mind. It's not something you see every day, so it's normal that she needs to think about it."
"I know that, rationally... I just don't want to lose her."
"Rena will always be your friend."
"You think so?"
"If she says she doesn't want to be in a relationship with us, are you going to stop being friends with her?"
"What? No! Of course not..."
"See, there's nothing to worry about."
Sky smiled softly and leaned in to press his lips against Prapai's cheek. With a sigh, he rested his head on the man's shoulder.
"What did I do to deserve you?"
Prapai rested his head on top of the younger boy's.
"You deserve the world, my Sky, and I will do everything in my power to give it to you."
Sky snorted. Prapai was always buying him expensive - and in his opinion, unnecessary - gifts.
"You can't buy the world, P'Pai."
"Is that a challenge?"
They were both distracted by their phones going off.
Meanwhile, in her apartment, Rena was deliberating the same thing she had been doing every day for the past week.
Prapai and Sky's offer was too good to be true. She gets both guys and both guys want her, but how would that work? Wouldn't she just be getting in the middle of their relationship? She didn't want to ruin what they had.
Although she had kept her distance, Rena had seen the couple a few times over the week. They were so cute together and looked so happy just as they were. It made no sense for her to interrupt that.
However, they said that this was what they wanted, so it wasn't up to her whether she thought it was a good idea for them, but rather was it what she wanted.
Focusing on that aspect, Rena still had her worries. She worried that she would feel left out and end up as the third wheel. Although she supposed that wasn't much different to what she was now. Perhaps the main question was, would it be worth it? No matter the outcome, would having Sky and Prapai, even for a short amount of time, be worth it or would it leave her full of regrets?
Finally, she knew what her answer was. She messaged both of the boys, quickly pressing send before she could change her mind, and then waited for them to reply.
In Prapai's office, both of them reached for their phones and looked at them excitedly.
Sky tapped Prapai's chest enthusiastically.
"P'Pai! P'Pai! It's from Rena!"
"What does it say?"
"She wants to meet."
"Mine says the same."
"P'Pai, do you think...?"
They were both wondering the same thing. Would this be good news or not? Prapai didn't want to give Sky false hope by assuring him that it would be good news, so instead he stroked the younger boy's hair and smiled encouragingly.
"There's only one way to find out."
