As the day wore on, Rena stayed close to her phone, waiting for the call that Gun was no longer a problem. She didn't know how long it would take, but she guessed she wouldn't hear anything until tomorrow at the earliest. That didn't stop her from almost jumping out of her seat every time a phone pinged.
The three of them spent the evening cuddled up on the sofa together. They had agreed that Sky would not be meeting Gun the next day. Or rather, Prapai said that was what was going to happen and Rena backed him up. Sky couldn't argue with both of them.
Unfortunately, the next morning, Prapai was called into work due to an emergency. He tried to get out of it, but Sky and Rena argued that they would be fine without him for a couple of hours. Together they pushed him out the door despite his pouting but gave him kisses goodbye which cheered him up.
When it came to lunchtime, Sky announced that he was going to grab them food from the place across the street. Rena stopped him.
"I'll go."
"What? Why? I can go."
"Because you shouldn't go outside today."
"Are you serious?"
"Deadly."
"Rena..."
"Please, Sky. For me."
"Fine."
Rena gave Sky a kiss before heading out to get the food.
He waited until after she gotten the food to approach her. Just as she had sighed in relief that nothing had happened, she felt a hand on her arm.
Rena spun around and her heart dropped. Standing there was Gun, a sickening smile on his face.
"Rena, darling. I heard something funny yesterday."
"Oh?"
Gun's smile dropped and his eyes narrowed.
"I heard you put a hit out on me."
Rena tried not to panic, but she instinctively tried to pull her arm away from his grip. Instead, he pulled her closer.
"I think we need to have a little chat."
She wasn't sure what happened, but the next thing Rena knew she was in a bedroom, her head felt fuzzy, and Gun wasn't the only other person in the room.
"Oh, you're awake! Good. I was getting bored. As I was saying, when I found out that someone was asking around about me, you weren't the first person I thought of to be behind it. What reason do you have to do this, huh? I've never hurt you, darling... but that changes today."
Gun leaned in close to Rena and whispered in her ear.
"I'll give you a reason to want me dead, darling."
He backed away enough to start taking off Rena's clothes. As her head started to clear she tried to struggle only to realise that she was tied down to the bed.
Gun carried on talking, not needing or wanting a response.
"This was meant to be for Sky. I had so much prepared for his return, but I guess you'll do. You don't mind, do you boys?"
Feeling Gun's hands on her made her skin crawl, but if someone was in this position she was glad that it was her and not Sky.
"You're a sick bastard."
"What a foul mouth for such a pretty lady."
Rena's head snapped to the side when Gun slapped her. When she looked back, she glared at him.
"You're going to regret this."
"Oh? I don't think I will."
"I know you will. This, and every hurtful thing you did to Sky."
"Did he tell you about that? He loved every minute of it. He was begging me -"
Gun was interrupted by a loud bang. He barely had time to get off the bed before a group of men entered the bedroom. Rena only had time to recognise Jeff and Prapai, who as soon as he saw her turned to Gun and punched. Her captor fell to the floor and had no chance to recover before Prapai joined him landing hit after hit.
The other men who had just come in restrained Gun's friends and Jeff came over to the bed to free Rena. As soon as she was free and covered up, she called out to her boyfriend.
"P'Pai? P'Pai! Prapai!"
At her shout, he finally stopped his assault on Gun and looked over at her.
"Rena..."
Prapai climbed onto the bed and held his arms out.
"Baby, can I hold you?"
The fact that he was asking brought tears to her eyes.
"Please."
In the safety and comfort of Prapai's arms, Rena what she could've lost today. Gun could have killed her, and she would never see Sky or Prapai again, or he could have damaged her enough that she might have never been comfortable with her boyfriends ever again.
So, she clung to Prapai so tightly her fingers ached - and cried.
