Rena didn't remember anything from the time she broke down in Prapai's arms until she found herself in Sky's.
When they got back home, Sky was frantic with worry. He gathered Rena in his arms and held her tightly.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? I thought he wanted me. I never imagined he would take you instead."
Rena felt a large hand on the back of her head.
"Let's sit down. Rena has something to tell us."
Prapai guided them all to the sofa. Sky looked around confused.
"What is it? Rena?"
Rena looked away from Sky's worried gaze and met Prapai's stern one. He wasn't going to let her get out of telling them.
"Gun targeted me. For a reason."
"What? You know Gun?"
"I've seen him at the races a few times."
"So, he knew were dating?"
"Yes. He - he said it wasn't fair that Prapai got both of us and he was going to steal you away. I told him that was never going to happen."
Sky looked at Rena in amazement. He wasn't sure he could have spoken to Gun like that. Although he wished he could.
"You said that to him?"
"Yep."
Prapai cleared his throat.
"That's not all."
He gave Rena a pointed look and she sighed.
"That wasn't why he took me. He took me because I - I put a hit out on him."
"You what? A hit? You mean... Rena! How - you know how to do that?"
"I know people."
Prapai frowned.
"So do I. Why did you do something like that without talking to us? It's dangerous."
Rena looked down at her lap.
"I know, but as long as you and Sky were safe - and together - I didn't care what happened to me."
Sky gasped and grabbed Rena's arm.
"How could you say that?! We care what happens to you! After all this time, do you still not believe you belong with us? Really, Rena? I love you! We love you! Tell her P'Pai!"
Rena turned her wide-eyed stare from Sky and his wild gaze to Prapai's saddened one.
"Rena, baby, I know you've had a hard time trusting me and my intentions, but I promise you, this isn't a game, this isn't temporary. This means something, you - and Sky - mean everything to me. I love you, so, so much."
Her chest tightened as Rena was overwhelmed by emotion. She had still felt as though she was intruding on their relationship, that eventually she would be in the way and be cut off. However, hearing their words punched a hole through her walls and made it hard to deny that they both wanted her as much as she wanted them.
Tears ran down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry... I love you both so much. I - I just wanted to protect you."
Sky wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to rest against him.
"Promise me that you'll never do anything that could take you away from us ever again."
Rena smiled as she pressed her face against Sky's chest.
"I promise."
"Now say you are an important part of this relationship."
But the words got caught in her throat. Seeing her struggle, Prapai shuffled over so that he could stretch his arms around them both.
"We'll work up to that. How about, Sky and P'Pai love me very much."
"Sky and P-"
Sky interrupted.
"And I deserve it. Sky and P'Pai love me very much and I deserve it."
Rena leaned back so she could look at Sky as she spoke.
"Sky and P'Pai love me very much and I deserve it."
The three of them broke into smiles.
"Now that's settled... I need to know. What happened with Gun?"
Prapai shrugged.
"Short answer. He's no longer a problem."
Sky raised an eyebrow.
"And the long answer?"
"P'Pai, how did you find me?"
"P'Chai found out where Gun was hiding out."
Rena frowned.
"P'Chai? How did he know?"
"I asked him to find Gun."
"Oh? And what was going to happen once P'Chai found him?"
"Umm... so Rena, who was the other guy who came to rescue you?"
Sky whirled around to face Rena.
"What other guy?"
"P'Jeff? He's like a brother to me. He... has connections."
Sky ducked his head and whispered.
"Is he the hitman?"
Rena laughed.
"Essentially, yes."
"So, it's over? Do I - I really never have to worry about him again?"
Rena and Prapai looked from Sky to each other. It hurt that Sky had been so afraid of someone. That they hadn't been there the first time. Prapai reached up and stroked Sky's hair.
"That's right. He can never hurt you - either of you - again."
Sky's shoulders dropped as he let out a breath.
"Good. Then let's not talk about it anymore."
Rena leaned into Sky, wrapping her hands around his arm.
"Fine by me."
"Are you tired, Rena?"
"No, I don't want to go to sleep yet."
"What do you want to do then? A movie?"
Prapai leaned forward.
"I think we should show Rena how treasured she is. Will you let me worship you, baby?"
Rena knew what Prapai was asking. He wanted to know if she was ready to give herself to him - heart, body, and soul.
"Are you sure you can handle me, P'Pai? I think you might need some help."
Prapai sighed.
"You're right. Sky? Will you help me?"
"No... but you can help me!"
Rena laughed as Sky dragged her towards the bedroom. Prapai followed only seconds behind.
No matter how unconventional it was, the three of them were happy together and that was the most important thing.
