"May kakaiba sa'yo."
"Hm? Paano mo naman nasabi?" I asked, curious.
"Wala lang, is it because you're in love?" hinampas ko ang balikat niya, dahilan para matawa siya.
It was the weekend, at dahil wala kaming magawa ay napagpasyahan namin na pumunta sa park ng subdivision namin.
"A-Anong...Hindi ba pwede crush muna? Kailangan in love agad?" I chuckled.
"Hindi, in love ka. Mahal mo na si Crimson." Halos mabulunan ako sa kinakain kong burger, buti nalang at may juice. Agad ko 'to ininom.
"Oh, kita mo na?" Natawa pa siya, kaya wala akong nagawa kundi tignan siya ng masama.
Napawi naman ang ngiti niya at seryoso akong tinignan.
"Basta Vivienne, ha? Paalala ko lang sa'yo. Hindi gaanong malakas ang puso mo kaya ingatan mo 'yan." Ayan nanaman ang tono ng boses niya, she sounds like a mom scolding her child.
"Oo na, eh wala akong magagawa. Gusti ko 'yung tao eh." I softly smiled as Crimson's face entered my thoughts, his soft lips and grey eyes.
"Why do you even like the guy?" Kathleen asked as she scooped up another piece of ice cream from her cup.
Her question made me stop and think, bakit ko nga ba gusto si Crimson ulit?
I shrugged, having no answers to voice out. "Ewan. Gusto ko lang siya."
Kathleen snorted. "Pwede ba 'yon?"
I hummed, my head still in the process of thinking.
"Siguro. Gano'n ako eh." I answered.
Natahimik kaming dalawa habang pinagmamasdan ang paglubog ng araw, we were on the swings so we slowly let our feet dangle as we swung, our eyes still glued on the sunset in front of us.
My mind drifted as thoughts filled my head. The sunset looks beautiful, the sun's warmth lingering on our skins a little more before it eventually has to say goodbye and let the darkness of the night take over. Just like our lives.
Just like the sun, we rise and fall when our time comes. And what was once a beautiful, warm set of moments and memories, becomes a dark mourning of the things we can't revive and memories we can't relive.
"Do you think I'll live long enough to see your kids?"
Even though I didn't look at her, I could feel her eyes on me.
I shrugged. "Well, with my condition and the uncertainty of life."
"Viv naman..." Ramdam ko ang pagbago ng tono ng boses ni Kathleen.
She sounded worried and...sad.
Well, not like I can help it.
This time, I looked at Kathleen with a soft smile.
Her brown eyes were shining brightly as the golden orange hues of the sunset painted her delicate face, her eyes starting to be misted with tears and an expression of determination.
"A-And my husband would have to deal with you being in our house whenever because I want you to visit. And my kids will adore you and call you 'Tita-Ninang', and you'll be like their second mom!" She chatted away as she explained more of her future plans that included me.
It made me smile wider, knowing that a person cares for me enough to want me to stay in their life for a long time.
Sadly, I can't stay long. Not unless someone's willing to give up their heart to save me. Unless someone's heart matched mine. Until that day, I have no idea how long I'll stay on earth.
