Any new journey has a few bumps on the road, but the question for our heroes seems a simple one though: Is this a small pump in the road? Or a massive pot hole?

♧♧♧♧♧

"No." Aura repeated for the umpteenth time.

It was a bright sunny day on the road and the heroes were walking down a path, searching for a town to rest in. However, there seemed to be some sort of discord between the girls.

"..." Zoey glanced at Aura and quickly averted her gaze to the road ahead of her.

"..." Aura continued to walk down the road ahead of her, drowning all her attention in her book she's currently reading.

"... and another thing..." Mairin continued to chatter.

Walking behind them, the male half of the group took notice of the odd tension between the girls.

"Steven, is it me, or have they been avoiding speaking to each other all day?" Cilan asked, believing his eyes were just playing tricks on him.

"All day." Steven sighed.

"Why is Mairin bugging Aura about Aura Evolution?"

"I wish I knew."

"I think she wants to learn how to do it." Alain voiced out.

Cilan turned to him, surprised. "But only Aura Guardians can do it, hence the term 'Aura Evolution'." He pointed out.

"No kidding."

"I just want to see how it's done, that's all!" Mairin shouted, getting impatient.

The males looked back to see the younger Sycamore was getting upset.

"I can't just do it right then and there." Aura blankly said, still engrossed in her book. "I only use that move as a last resort."

"Oh, yeah?" Mairin crossed her arms, suspicious. "Then how do you train your Pokémon with it?"

"In the mountains back home." Aura responded mechanically. "I own some land that's private to the public."

Mairin spreaded her arms out. "There's nobody here!"

"I don't want to." Aura flat-out refused.

That's when Mairin had enough.

"That's it!!" She yelled. "What is the matter with you?!" Mairin fumed, burning holes in the back of the girl's head. "Ever since the festival, you've changed! You became distant, emotionless, and worst of all - Secretive!" She ranted, her face burning up at the heat of the moment. "You run off somewhere and when you come back, you're all battered up, dirty and covered in bruises! There's no way you get like that just from collecting herbs!"

Aura finally lowered her book and looked at the girl, unperturbed. "Are you calling me a reticent?" She inquired.

"If it means secretive, yes!"

"That's just how I am."

Mairin gritted her teeth. "HOW CAN YOU BE A POKÉMON TRAINER IF YOU DON'T ACTUALLY TRAIN?!?!" She hollered.

Aura smiled blankly, amused. "It was never my intention to be a Pokémon Trainer."

This caught everybody off-guard.
