[ 18th April|To.leap Café ]
Evelyn is sipping on her iced peach tea when she see a familiar figure walk pass the café, following the road that lead to a bridge in the middle of the town; as far as the girl remember. Evelyn grab her drinks and begin to chase after the guy.
Evelyn follow him quietly, staying a little far from Jay himself to make him no feel like he is being followed. Evelyn slowen her step as Jay stop at the middle of the bridge, staring at the lake beneath while holding a photograph in his left hand, fiddling with it.
Evelyn calmly reach for the younger and stand beside him. "why are you even here?" Jay asked, not bothered to look at the older, "just happen to see you" Evelyn answer. "are you mad at me?" she asked as her gaze move to the photograph in the guy hand, "maybe, or I just don't want to talk" Jay mumble, but loud enough for the older to hear.

"who's she?" Evelyn asked as she stare at the girl in the photograph, "is that Hyewon?" she ask more making Jay sigh and nods. "why do you even feel guilty of her death?" Evelyn ask making Jay gulp, "because I could be there" Jay reply. "but you were on this entrance exam" Evelyn utter, "still, I could give all of this up to save her" Jay answered.
"but you almost saved—"
"And that 'almost' killed her, Evelyn!" Jay cut off the girl sentence making the girl stare at him in shock. Jay never been seen to raise his voice to anyone, he talk in a very lazy, low, uninterested, monotonous voice, but here he is, shouting straight to Evelyn face making her shuddered in shock and disbelief. "It killed me too" Jay continue.He then take out a few teared-up photograph out of his jacket.

"this is nothing now" Jay utter as he look at the photograph of him and the other six teenagers. "I let her take her own life when Sunghoon trusted me to take care of her, she's like my own sister. It hurts so bad to see a whole family leaves in a short period of time" Jay adds as a tear drops from his eye before he huff and walk away from the speechless girl, dropping the photograph as he walk away.
Evelyn look down to the picture in her hand, she then turn one of the photograph around and finally see something she supposed to see before talking to the upset guy, "home..." she read, "they're his home" She continue as a feeling of regret flow in her.

"so you found out" Liú utter making the girl nod as she fiddle with the photo in her hand, keep staring at it. "why don't you say anything about it.." Evelyn mumble, "because I was affected too Xinyúe.." the latter reply which make her slowly raise her head and face the guy before he released a sigh.
He reach for the photographs in her hand, lay it flat on the table before pointing at one of them, "Nishimura Riki... and, Lee Heeseung. They're Blith Basketball Aces, Riki is the team captain. Heeseung is a hidden ace that was brought into the team by Riki himself to become the substitutes of Hamin as he injured his leg" Liú explains making the girl surprise.
"you see how almost everyone knows who is Jay, right?" Liú asked making the older nod. "these five. They attended The Worldwide School Camp and Contest 2018, together. They even won the second place. They have their faces and names all over news and articles in Korea and even nationwide. They're amazing... But then one death leads to another.. and what's left is Jay, alone" Liú continue which surprise the older even more. "Jay was a WSC attendees?" Evelyn asked for confirmation making the guy nod. "then.. he is a smart guy.." Evelyn mutter under her breath making the cousin nod as he scoff.
"but, what—who started the death chain?" Evelyn questioned. Liú once again raise his hand once again before pointing to another figure, "Yang Jungwon, he suffered from heart failure. No one knows until he was admitted to the hospital abruptly before he pass away few hours later. Turns out he has been fighting the disease for 10 years.." Liú answered. "He passed away a day before Heeseung's birthday, They all have planned to celebrate his birthday together but, yeah.. it was devastating" Liú continue.
"Park Jay, is a good guy.. he might appear cold after all those lost but he is a very good guy despite his sarcasm" Liú adds making Evelyn look at him, "I know, despite his coldness, he never abandoned me as his assignment partner. I thought he'll let me do the work alone" Evelyn said.
Liú let out a smile, "his coldness is charming, but, once you see the bright side of him, your thoughts of him will definitely change, he look better when he is happy.. though we might not see that side now" Liú adds as he gave the photo back to the older, "happiness suits him" Evelyn mumble as she stare at the photo where the cold Jay she is used to, is smiling widely along with his six friends.
