William Clyde Elliott II sat on the steps of his Georgia home. He'd been disqualified due to five loose lug nuts. He'd told his pit crew that his tire was loose and he knew he shoulda pitted. He took a swig if his beer and his best friend, Y/n walked over. "How you doin' Clyde? Heard you got 13th. Not bad." She smiles. "No I didn't." He slams his beer down and it breaks but Chase wasn't meaning to be rude. "I got disqualified." His mom, hearing his beer hit the steps and shatter decided it was best to see if her son was drunk. Tonight wasn't a party. Most days Chase hung out at his house but today. Today was Father's Day so he came to spend time with his dad. "Clyde, baby, what's wrong?" His mother walks over. "DQ'ed." He whispers in a small tone. "I did so good last year but all I keep getting is second place or third! Damn it this sucks!" He snaps finally. "Chase!" His dad walks out. "You can't win every race but you can defend your tittle." His mom agrees. "I just need a break." Chase sighs. "I'm going home." He shoves hands into his pockets and says goodbye. Walking as quick as he could to his car. He sighs knowing that he had one beer. Still, he shouldn't drive. He sighed and Y/n walked to his truck. "Got room, country boy?" She asks. "As always, small town girl, the answer is yes." He moves into the passengers seat and Y/n takes the wheel. "To yours?" She looks at him. He nods. Five minutes later, Y/n pulls up to Chase's house. "Stay with me. Please." She nods at his words. Both of them knew to never leave the other if they asked. They didn't follow that rule as kids and many times they got in a lot of trouble. Chase just needed a distraction from being disqualified so he watched Y/n's favourite movie while he let her shower. "Hey, do you have clothes that I may have left behind from my last stay?" She asks. "You never leave your stuff behind." He sighs, looking over at her. He wished he hadn't. The towel that was wrapped around her body complimented her skin and he yearned to take it off her. He stopped that impulse and opens the top draw of his dresser. He grabs a pair of his ex's underwear and closes that draw, not realizing he'd given Y/n a thong. He pulls the t shirt he's wearing over his head and pulls it off. He hands both to Y/n. "Thanks." She says and goes back to his bathroom. Chase smiles to himself and Y/n walked out of the bathroom. She layed beside him and laughed at the good parts of the movie. As usual, whenever the sad parts came up, she cried and at the gory scene's she his in Chase's chest. Not that Chase mined. He loved watching Underworld with Y/n. Y/n played with the necklace that hung around Chase's neck that he wore occasionally. It was a cross that his father had given him when he was a kid. Y/n admired her best friend. He had like the second most dangerous job in the world the first being Crab Fishing (watch Deadliest Catch now on Discovery network in the US). Y/n also admired his complex. He was more of his mother. He had his mother's dark hair and olive skin, along with her sweet dark brown eyes. Y/n loved Chase's smile. A smile can be uniquely yours but Chase's. It was like a combination of his mother and his father's. Y/n studied Chase as he watched the movie. "What would you do if I was a Lycan and you were a vampire?" Chase asks. "I might end up like Sonja." Y/n sighs. "So deeply in love but also having to have to keep it secret." Chase smiles. "It's sad that her child never gets to see the light of day." Y/n agrees. Chase grins. "Would you be willing to die for me?" He asks. "Yes but I'd live for you as well." Y/n replies. Chase looks at her surprised. "Would you?" He asks. Y/n nods. Chase couldn't help it, he leaned in and kissed her. Y/n pulls away. "You know, Elliott, I've been dying for you to do that." She smiles. "Then let's do it again." Chase says as they kiss again.
