CHAPTER THIRTEEN
The dim moonlight shined through the trees of the glade where you had stopped with Fred, illuminating a rock at its center. Runic symbols were carved in its surface, decorating it like a magical ornament. The clearing appeared as if someone had drew a circle in the forest, it was the only spot where the trees didn't obscured the sky. From here you could actually see the stars brightly. Moss covered half of the huge rock and the trees around, it was truly magical.
'Where are we ?' Asked Fred looking all around.
'Apart from the Shrieking Shack, this is where Cedric and I hang out most of the time.'
You knew this place since you had discovered it with Cedric in third year, first Hogsmeade's trip. Playing the adventurers had its lot of advantages, finding a place to escape with your best friend was one of them. It was maybe fifteen to twenty minutes walk from the secret passage that led to Gregory the Smarmy Statue, hence in Hogwarts. You used this passage a lot. Fred was astonished that he and his brother had not found this place before.
There was a kind of eerie yet enchanting atmosphere that surrounded the place. It was ages away from Fred's fiery, warm, joyful and laughing universe. He usually hanged out in crowded or messy, chaotic spaces, never in such quiet and peaceful surroundings.
He looked you climbing the huge rock and sitting on its top, the feet hangin in the air, an earphone stuck in the right ear and the other one hanging on your shoulder. You turned to him and asked sternly and puzzled.
'Well don't tell me we did all that for nothing ?'
His heart beat fast and he quickly joined your side, sticking the other half in his own ear. The sweet melody resounded in his head, he loved this sensation and the sound of this song.
'What is this song ?'
'Space oddity by David Bowie.' You answered closing your eyes.
Ground control to major Tom...
Yes, Fred tried to keep is feet on the ground but truly his thoughts were all led towards you. He didn't actually really cared for this CD player, but more for his owner, the one at the end of the other earpiece. Lately, he had been thinking about you, and your relationships together. It all began when he smelled your hair and their pumpkin scent through the Amortentia in Potions.
Yes he had.
And he had kept it for himself, even not telling his brother about it.
He was so disturbed at first, because there was no way you could attract him, but in fact, you did. You were the reason the pranks were good, the comebacks were enjoyable and the thrill of your reactions made all the jokes funnier. He loved to mess with you. The time spent searching the Boggart and the Grindylow had changed his vision of you ; for your cleverness had not been that annoying for the first time. In class it still was, really, because he could not stand your know-it-all personality, but other times, he truly wanted to get to know you. After all, he truly was fond of this constant bickering which entertained the castle.
But his feelings towards you could not change all of the sudden because of a silly little potion, he wanted to be friends with you first. Hence he had tried, those couple of weeks, to grew closer to you.
'I've been thinking...' he began.
'That'd be a first.' You said, eyes still closed.
'Shut up. So... I've been thinking, that maybe...we could...be friends ?'
