CHAPTER 27

The sun was setting into a pinkish sky and the green lands around the Burrow were flourishing in an orange light. It was a marvellous sight, you thought. A hot breeze kissed your cheeks as you helped Molly setting the table for the whole family outside the house. You were talking about school and your parents. She had warned you that for the week you might had to answer an monstrous amount of question from her husband about the non-wizarding world.

'Amos told Arthur you got top marks at the OWLs exams ?' she asked pretty excitedly.

'I studied a lot.'

'Unlike my sons !' She spoke slamming a plate on the table.

You looked at the house, more precisely to the window showing inside the kitchen. George was resting on the counter displaying his back to you. Until he turned to wash his hands, his hair falling on his face.

'Though George did well in potion surprisingly.'

You smiled without looking at her.

'He must have cheated.' Said Charlie arriving behind you.

You blushed a bit and rapidly set the table while he talked to his mother. You tried not to look at him too much, why weren't in your normal state ? You acted as a teenage girl, how embarrassing.

Molly asked you to go find some napkins in the kitchen, a request you hurriedly fulfilled to escape Charlie. Lost in the clouds you did not see the wall in front of you as you entered the room. You ran directly into Fred's chest.

'Looks like someone isn't herself hmm ?' He said playfully. 'Charlie just says hi and he wins you over but I have to suffer months before we become even friends ?'

'Wh-wh-what-... I mean, pff, it's not true !' You stammered.

Fred's grin only grew wider, he looked you up and down before letting you go into the kitchen, where you found Ronald and Harry talking to Arthur. Mr. Weasley directly brightened at your sight and dashed towards you immediately.

'Y/n ! We haven't got the chance to talk yet I believe, please explain to me what is the point of an air conditioner ?'

His eyes displayed the most excited expression. He was hanging unto your words like you were about to reveal the plot twist of the most exciting story ever. Fred who was enjoying your helpless look quickly leaned into your ear from behind, brushing your wrist with his fingers. Purposely you were sure.

'What did my mother need ?'

You look up to your right, he was smiling at you. You were a bit red and hot but answered without hesitation 'napkins'. In a second he had dashed over a corner of the kitchen to a wooden cupboard. You hadn't forgotten about your interlocutor in front of you.

'Well a an air conditioner is...'

You explained to Arthur Weasley all he asked you to explain until Molly finally called the entire family to diner. You went to the bathroom before eating, Hermione lead the way. You went upstairs, the house felt like a harmonious chaos of magic, you felt such warmth and love towards this place. It felt like the house was alive and welcoming.

'There you go.'

You entered a little bathroom in front of a door with precaution signs, you wondered what it was. But on this second floor there was this strong smell like gunpowder. You frowned at the odd odor. In the room there was a bathtub, really small and deformed, the shower curtains were a bright orange and there was a tiny window facing the door which overlooked the garden. You washed your hand, looked at yourself in the mirror, rearranged your hair and took a breath. You didn't know what to do, why were you there. And there was too much things happening here. Things you weren't even sure you understood. The flashes of little moments with the twins but your beating heart for Charlie. Your head was a mess and you were terrible at relationships.
