"Maitree, you will look amazing in this," Rudra said, placing a saree on Maitree's shoulder.
Maitree took it off with an annoyed look and said, "I told you, Rudra, I already brought an anarkali with me."
"What about this one?" Rudra asked, lifting up another one, completely ignoring Maitree.
"Rudra," Maitree said, annoyed, and walked away from him to check on Khushi.
Rudra continued to search for sarees for Maitree. Shourya approached Rudra and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Picking a saree for Maitree," Rudra replied while continuing to search for more options.
"I don't think she's interested," Shourya remarked, looking at Maitree as she helped Khushi with her saree.
"I just want to get her a saree," Rudra said, looking back at Shourya.
"Rudra, she said she doesn't want one," Shourya emphasized, in an obvious tone.
"But she will look so good in these," Rudra insisted, still focused on the sarees.
"I know," Shourya acknowledged, then paused and added, "Rudra, she came all this way to meet your family with only two dates. Don't make her uncomfortable by forcing a saree on her."
Rudra nodded as he realized he shouldn't make Maitree uncomfortable. She had stepped out of her comfort zone by coming here and going on a date with him. The Maitree from the blind date had taken a chance on him. And he couldn't afford to mess it up with her.
Maitree was on her knees, helping Khushi with her pleats. "Why are you upset?" Khushi asked, looking at Maitree's face.
"It's just Rudra," Maitree said, getting up and continued, "he wants to buy a saree for me."
"And the problem?" Khushi asked, raising her eyebrows.
"I already bought a dress with me," Maitree explained. Khushi raised her eyebrows, and Maitree continued, "He already bought the tickets for me. I am staying at his home for free. If he buys a saree for me, it will be one of the many amazing things he does for me," she said, getting quiet.
"It's his way of showing his appreciation for you coming here and being a part of his life. Sometimes, people express their feelings through these gestures." Khushi said shrugging
"Yeah, I know," Maitree said, shaking her head. "I might be overthinking, but he has done so much for me from the first day," she said, taking a seat in the chair outside the trial room.
Khushi sat beside Maitree and suggested, "What about doing something for him?"
Maitree looked at Khushi, intrigued. "Like what?"
"He's a foodie," Khushi said with a shrug. "Maybe you could cook breakfast for him tomorrow," she added, raising her eyebrows.
"Cooking" Maitree said with little wide eyes
"Yea, I am going to change" Khushi said going into the trial room
"God! Cooking," Maitree muttered, frustrated, as she grasped her head.
Khushi changed and came out. "I think I'm going to take this," Khushi said, looking at the saree she had just tried on.
"Khushi what does he like?" Maitree said getting up
"Aloo Poori" Khushi said with a smile and walked to the checkout counter
"Aloo Poori; sounds simple enough," Maitree murmured as she followed Khushi.
Khushi and Shourya walked ahead towards the car with shopping bags. Maitree was walking behind them googling recipes; Rudra sped up and grabbed Maitree's forearm and spun her around
