"Can you leave us alone?" Rudra said in a frustrated tone looking at Khushi
"Rudra, I am talking to Maitree, you can be alone whenever you want. Infact you are the one annoying us" Khushi said in an annoyed tone
Rudra was about to retort when Shourya said "pick your battles bro, pick your battles"
Maitree had an amused look throughout the interaction. She has never grown to like to anyone this fast not even Sonakshi but, Khushi found a away to her heart. Maitree didn't feel like she just met Khushi, it just feels like long lost friends are meeting again.
Maitree came out of her thoughts when she felt a tug on her arm pulling her back turing around she Shourya looking ahead with cautious eyes Maitree following his gaze to see Khushi and Rudra walking and arguing.
"Now you will have some peace and quiet" Shourya said in a calm tone to which Maitree smiled
Maitree couldn't help but chuckle at the ongoing argument between Khushi and Rudra. It seemed like the two of them could go on forever, exchanging heated words and gestures. She turned to Shourya and asked, "Do they always fight like this?"
Shourya nodded, a small grin playing on his lips. "Oh, they're like oil and water, those two. But they love each other deep down. It's their way of bonding, I guess."
As Maitree watched Khushi and Rudra's bickering from a distance, she realized that Shourya was right. Despite the fiery arguments, there was an underlying camaraderie between them, a connection that was hard to miss.
Rudra was gesticulating wildly, making his point with passion, while Khushi was countering with her usual witty remarks and sharp comebacks. It was like watching a well-rehearsed comedy routine, and Maitree found herself laughing along with Shourya at their antics.
Finally, Khushi seemed to have the last word, and Rudra threw up his hands in defeat. With a theatrical sigh, he turned and walked away, leaving Khushi standing there, triumphantly smirking.
Shourya and Maitree approached Khushi, who was still beaming from her "victory." Maitree couldn't help but admire how Khushi's vibrant personality had a way of bringing a smile to her face.
"You two certainly know how to put on a show," Maitree commented, still amused by the spectacle.
Khushi chuckled. "Oh, you have no idea. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Rudra and I have a long history of these battles."
Shourya added with a grin, "But don't worry, they never last long. They'll be best buddies again in no time."
"Now come on, Varun will be waiting for us," Khushi said, placing an arm around Maitree, almost dragging her along.
"Khushi, slow down," Shourya said, carrying the luggage while walking with the girls.
All three of them exited the airport to find Rudra talking to a man of the same height. As they approached, Khushi introduced Maitree.
"Varun, this is Maitree," Khushi said with an excited smile.
"Maitree, this is Varun," Khushi paused for a second, then continued, "Rudra's brother-in-law." Maitree made an 'O' face and shook Varun's hand.
"Hello, Maitree. I've heard a lot about you from Anjali. It's great to finally meet you," Varun said warmly, shaking her hand.
"Hai," Maitree murmured, shaking his hand.
"Bhaiiiii!" a younger girl screamed as she came running and hugged Rudra.
"Aru, slow down," Rudra said, slightly laughing as he hugged her.
Breaking the hug, she said, "Sorry, I wanted to be here the second you arrived, but you know how much I love gol gappe," she said, showing the gol gappe she had gotten from the nearby cart.
Rudra laughed, looking at her. Aradhya then noticed Khushi and hugged her. After breaking the hug, Khushi asked, "How are you, Rady?"
"Good," she said, looking at Maitree. "And you must be Maitree. Bhai talks non-stop about you."
"Non-stop, huh?" Maitree said, looking at Rudra, who just scratched his head and looked up at the sky. Varun and Shourya laughed.
"Gol gappe," Aradhya said, extending the plate towards Maitree and Khushi.
Maitree couldn't help but smile at Aradhya's infectious enthusiasm. "Gol gappe? I love them!" she exclaimed, accepting a plate from Aradhya.
Khushi chimed in, "You're in for a treat, Maitree. Aradhya has the best taste gol gappe in town."
As they all enjoyed the delicious street food, Rudra turned to Varun and Shourya. "Guys, let's get the luggage loaded up, and then we can head home."
Varun and Shourya nodded and began collecting the bags. Maitree, Khushi, and Aradhya continued to chat animatedly, quickly forming a bond as they indulged in the tasty snacks.
Rudra took a moment to speak to Varun privately. "Thanks for picking us up, Varun."
"Its more for my safety, your sister threatened to kill me" Varun said in a hushed tone
Rudra and Varun shared a hearty laugh at Varun's remark, causing Shourya to join in the mirth.
"Well, you know di," Rudra said with a grin. "She's got that protective big sister vibe going on."
Varun nodded in agreement. "Absolutely, and I wouldn't want to test that. So, Rudra, tell me, how was your flight? Any jetlag?"
As they continued their lighthearted conversation, the car rolled on, filled with laughter and camaraderie. Rudra looked at Maitree sitting at the backseat talking to Aradhya and Khushi laughing. He couldn't wait to introduce her to his family.
