It's a slightly cloudy but bright day. Leaves have fallen from trees, some still cling to their roots but most color the ground and road. I don't take much notice of them though as I try my best to stay steady. I've started skating a little, and now I'm pushing in the middle of a way that cars don't usually drive through. It's asphalt, suitable for me, and mostly flat. A great beginning for newbies, I believe that I'm going to be fine. I haven't fallen since I tried it a day ago, and I'm still cautious. Besides, I'm wearing a black shirt with short sleeves, shorts that go past my knees, and a black hoodie with a zipper despite the warm temperature that's in today. It provides protection.
I have my backpack on, a black one that was given to me by my father since the one I had before, a black and white square patterned one, had broken zippers. I've got my wallet, keys, bottle, and phone inside. My device is playing music of a suitable nature. Although it's on shuffle, I can easily identify each song because I'm using one of my playlists, the one that's currently playing is Jack Stauber, the song being Tea Errors by him, giving me a hip and energetic boost as the beats are full of life. It's a bit muffled due to the sound of the wheels rolling me forward, though I don't mind much. I do wish that I had my pink kitty earbuds that I bought a week ago due to my earlier black ones being busted, but I'm scared of falling with them and tearing them in the drop. The escalating distance between me and my accessory would definitely be bad.
Nonetheless, I skate the best that I can, eventually having to pick up my board as I can't go up a hill with no prior force. I keep the wheels around myself, not wanting to touch them for being on the ground as I walk towards the higher point. My music has already shuffled to Dinner Is Not Over by Jack Stauber, the song reminds me of how much I overplayed it as I listen to songs on repeat when I'm not doing anything. If I had not been lying in my bed for extended periods of time, I could have still fully enjoyed it, but I was too busy texting on my phone with artificial intelligence instead of doing something productive. I still feel sour over how I also managed to desensitize myself to the endless opportunities and eventually become bored with the product. Well, it's not like I want to do everything, I'm more linear, I appreciate fully thought-out stories with life poured into them, and realism residing as its base. Although I was working on a continuation of an ended story, I wasn't happy with it. Not because I didn't like my style of writing, but simply due to the fact that I got bored and the motivation I once had for it slowly disintegrated into nothing. It was my fault that I started the sequel in the spark of a moment. Despite my regrets, I'm warmed at heart by the struggles me and my friend went through to create it. I still barely try to write something for it, though my passion is forgotten to time.
While I take steps without much notice, I can't help but hope that no one is around. I just want to get on top and then slide back down, deciding that this part will be the end after which I will head to my home, and the interruption of a passerby would disrupt my flow. Besides, it is embarrassing just to be trying to skate instead of being already well off with it. Nobody really skates nowadays, and most who do have good experience.
With the day turning over, I turn around and set down my skateboard onto a gravel part next to the road. It'll make for a longer ride, so I am okay starting off from some nonlinear path. As my hands drag against the surface of the slide, I wonder to myself how far I'll go this time. I'm definitely not making it the whole way as a small hill awaits me near the end, so my momentum won't be good enough, yet I at least hope to be away from my previous attempt. It should be easy as I'm more experienced. The only thing that could go wrong is if I wasn't mindful of my balance, I have to stay calm no matter how fast I roll.
I set my left foot along the spine of the board, pressing it forward to see I won't be leaning away to any side. I push my leg a bit more back so that I don't fall off in case I have to stop abruptly, but I finally start accelerating with my other leg as I gain momentum. I feel the wheels roll against the edge of the road as I get on it, after which I finally kick my other leg up to get on the board fully. At last, I began to fly against the wind. My phone has started playing Cupid by Jack Stauber, and I find myself relaxing as the speed ramps up. I feel myself getting a little tense though, the ride is giving me a shot of adrenaline that I can't help but be pleasured by. The hairs on my arms stand, and I'm getting goosebumps, however, I don't let myself get carried away. I force my legs to relax, and I soon lean to the side so that I can get around a corner. It's an easy success, and I hear no cars nearby. To be quite frank, it's the only corner I'm able to train on and it's quite wide since vehicles drive by. I wish that I had something harder to try to avoid but-
