As soon as San opened the front door, he found himself pinned against the wall.
"Where the hell were you!" growled Wooyoung.
San had never seen him like this. He pushed him, but Wooyoung stood solid like a wall. "Wooyoung, let go of me right now! I just went out for a bit."
"And couldn't you have warn me?! Do you know how worried I got?"
"You're right, I should have had. But I'm here now — what's wrong with you!" Wooyoung seemed more unsteady than usual.
Hongjoong laid a hand on his shoulder. "Let go of him, Wooyoung. Come on."
Wooyoung finally pulled away, running a hand through his hair.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he said. "I came back from the funeral after accompanying your parents to the cemetery and then to your — their — home. It was a very hard day for me. Then I come back... and you're gone."
"Nice prank you played on us," Yeosang intervened, acidly. "You almost got us killed by your Wooyoung for losing you from our sight."
San became annoyed. "I'm not a child nor a prisoner. If I want to go out, I can. I'm sorry to have worried you, but I'm perfectly fine, as you can see."
"Did you go hunting? What were you doing? Did you kill someone?"
San shook his head. "No...actually I followed you, I wanted to see my parents."
"What?!"
"You were right, I would have been better off staying home...seeing them like that...Anyway, I met someone afterwards. A vampire named Seonghwa. He took me to his house and introduced me to his group."
San saw all three vampires paling. He began to feel anxious. He did not think he had done anything serious.
"...What did you say? We were at the home of the newcomer vampires?! San! What were you thinking?! What if they had hurt you! Didn't you think of that?!" Wooyoung was freaking out.
"Well, it's not like I can die. What could they have done to me?!"
"Actually yes, there is a way," Hongjoong explained. "We can't die a natural death, that's true. However, although it is difficult to succeed, if you rip out a vampire's heart and then set it on fire, they die permanently."
"And didn't you think to tell me sooner?!"
"I didn't think you would go and put your life in danger!" shouted Wooyoung.
"I was not in danger! They were very nice to me, I had a good time. They did absolutely no harm to me."
Wooyoung began to laugh hysterically. "Very nice to you, you say! San, they are the ones who killed you!!! That Seonghwa created a diversion to distract me while another one of his people slaughtered you in that alley!"
San felt the ground tremble underneath his feet. "...What?"
So Seonghwa had lured him that afternoon? For what purpose? Why had he welcomed him into his home? Perhaps...was he hoping to get some information from him? He was simply shocked.
"What did you tell them about us?" asked Hongjoong immediately.
"Nothing! I told them nothing!"
"You'd better!" shouted Yeosang immediately. "I knew this kid would cause us a lot of trouble!"
San pushed him. "Maybe if you had told me beforehand that there was an enemy clan, instead of keeping me in the dark as usual, I wouldn't have caused any! And you," he said, turning to Wooyoung with a fiery gaze. "How could you not tell me how I died? You knew who did this to me and you didn't tell me!"
