A few days later, Wooyoung went again hunting with Yeosang and Hongjoong, looking for some unfortunate victim. Frankly, it was not easy for him to accompany San on his hunts without feeding himself. He was a vampire, he was not made of stone, and he was starving. Since San had become like them Wooyoung had devoted himself, body and soul, to him and had not been able to feed as often as he had always done. Moreover, he would have never admitted it, but since San had started feeding on him he had started feeling rather weak.
San still had never come hunting with them all. Yeosang insisted every day, but he refused. He actually hunted rarely, and only with Wooyoung. He had admirable willpower, as always. Anyway, Wooyoung did not mind for several reasons, including that he could take advantage of his absence to talk about certain matters.
"Guys, there's something I haven't told you about the day I found San in the alley."
The other two looked at him apprehensively.
"Do you remember I told you about being late that day? I was held up by one of the newly arrived vampires. He told me his name was Seonghwa. He revealed me that there is more of them and that they have been following us for some time now."
"And why didn't you think to tell us earlier?!" asked Hongjoong immediately, bewildered.
"Because I've being caught up with too much stuff and it came back to me just a few days ago. I also didn't want San to find out. He already has too many thoughts on his mind. The point is...I'm pretty sure they were the ones who killed him."
"What?!" exclaimed Yeosang.
"Think about it...By chance I get held up by one of them and when I manage to get to San I find him dying. It seems too weird for a coincidence. That Seonghwa also asked me strange questions about him. He had already set his eyes on him."
Hongjoong shook his head. "That doesn't seem very much in the style of a vampire, beating a boy to death. You didn't see any bite marks, did you?"
"No, but...it was probably done on purpose to throw us off...right before I found San in that state, he asked me if he was my personal blood supply...I don't know, the whole thing seemed like a provocation...as if to say that they are able to take what is ours, our city, our food. Guys, trust me, I'm pretty much sure they're the one did it."
Ever since Wooyoung had felt more clear-headed after all the San affair and that crucial detail had come back to him, he had been haunted by these theories, and by now he was sure he was right.
Hongjoong nodded. "If that's really the case, the situation is very serious. What do you want to do, Wooyoung?"
"Get revenge, of course."
Wooyoung, besides resenting himself for failing to protect San, was haunted by a desire for revenge against those who had hurt him in the first place. He really wanted to make that individuals suffer and then kill them with his own hands. Moreover, if he was right, those vampires were a danger that had to be eliminated regardless.
"We will help you. We can't act recklessly, though," Hongjoong said. "Right now we are at a clear disadvantage. They know everything about us, and we don't even know how many there are."
"We should keep our eyes open and study them ourselves from now on," Yeosang said. "And we should also involve San. You have to stop trying to protect him from everything. He's one of us now, and besides, we are talking about his death here."
Wooyoung shook his head. "He's just a boy. He still doesn't accept what he is and would like more than anything to go back to his own home. How can I tell him that we will soon have to fight other vampires?"
