Toradora: Unseen Connections

Taiga is now at the nurses office after the beating delivered by Jax. Her arm was broken in two and will need time to heal.

Yūsaku Kitamura enters the room, concerned for Taiga. Taiga just freezes in place. Her crush walks right in on her and begins examining her.

"Wow... he got you good didn't he? He did tell me about everything."

Taiga's heart just sank. She pretty much felt her chances of dating Kitamura have heavily slimmed.

"Don't worry. I'm not mad at you. You just gotta be more careful about who you pick the stick with." He said.

Taiga takes a sigh of relief.

"Oh phew." She said. "I mean uhhh... darn..."

Yūkasu is confused.

"What are you trying to say?"

Taiga thinks it through and says, "I would have had some massive issues. I was afraid it would go to you. It could have became your problem."

Yūsaku stands there confused. "So... this is my problem?"

Taiga says, "Well... I thought after the Culture Festival we shared the problems we had. Y'know I thought you wanted to..." Taiga pauses.

Yūsaku thinks it through.

"So... if your problems are my problems... then I suppose my problems are sort of... your problems." He said.

Taiga nods. "Oh yeah indeed. Anything you need!"

Yūsaku smiles. "Student council has been finding trouble since the Culture Festival. Since the big event, all we got was multiple levels of chaos in the school. Bodies are dropping like flies. I need you to meet me and the class president at the classroom later this afternoon. Can you do that?

Taiga nods. "Eagerly."

Yūsaku smiles. "Ok. I must go now. Behave yourself."

And Yūsaku left.

Taiga gets ice for her arm and heads back to class. She was picked on numerously by students and now has became a primary target.

Later on in the afternoon she meets back up with Yūsaku who is sitting with Maya Kihara, a fellow student, and Sumire Kanō, the Student Council President.

Taiga sarcastically says. "Oh yeah. You. Let's get this over with."

Sumire looks at Taiga amused. "Looks like the Palm Top Tiger has been caught by the tail.
Hmm... looks like we have some issues to deal with."

Taiga responds, "What issues?"

Sumire says, "People have been brutally battered. The blame was shifted over to you but I know the true culprit. It was the new guy. That O'Conner snob. Kitamura will discuss what you need to do. But for now. It looks like you are now MY mutt. Now I have better places to be."

And Sumire leaves.

Yūkasu says, "Well... we have some things we have to take care of. Student Council has been in touch with other student graduates, and we have to make sure we can help out this particular person. He can promote the school to make all of us happy."

Taiga tilts her head. "So... who does this specifically benefit."

Yūsaku responds, "All of us! We get to work together and make Ohashi High School the best of them all."

Taiga says, "I guess..." and walks away.

Yūsaku reflects on the situations and how to work them through and make it work.

"Maybe..." He says to himself. "Maybe I see more than just a friend... perhaps... one more try? She can't turn me down a second time right? I'll have to find out soon."
