Zeldris POV

Now here I am sitting at the dining table inside her cabin. "By the way, what's your name, young man?" she said as she was preparing a meal. Still, my brow twitches, and I become irritated when she says the word 'young.' I'm no longer a child, I thought to myself, silently fuming. Nevertheless, I responded with a cold tone, "I am Zeldris, madam." As the words left my lips, I could see a flicker of surprise in her eyes, and for a fleeting moment, I relished in that small victory. However, her warm smile quickly returned though, and all of a sudden it became a cold one. Then she suddenly smacked my head with her wooden spoon, causing a sharp pain to shoot through my skull. "Watch your tone, young man," she scolded, her voice now stern and authoritative. I bit my tongue to hold back the retort that wanted to slip out, realizing that challenging her further would only lead to more trouble. With a forced grin, I muttered an apology. "(Y/n), that's my name," she said softly, offering me the meal. Relieved that the tension seemed to dissipate, I accepted the meal cautiously, still feeling the sting on my head. As I took a bite, I couldn't help but notice the subtle sweetness in the dish, a stark contrast to the earlier encounter. "(Y/n)," she repeated gently, her eyes softening. Despite the rocky start, I couldn't overlook the kindness that seemed to hide beneath her stern exterior. Grateful for the gesture, I nodded appreciatively, silently hoping that this was the beginning of a better understanding between us.

(Y/n)'s POV

I suggested to Zeldris that we go to bed after we finish our meal and wash our plates. He looked at me with a mix of surprise and amusement, perhaps not expecting such a suggestion after the tension-filled meal. However, he nodded in agreement, a small smile playing on his lips. As we quietly cleaned up after ourselves, there was a newfound sense of camaraderie in the air. I grabbed his hands and led him to my room, saying, "Since you're still young and possibly still afraid of sleeping alone, we'll just sleep together." Then he suddenly removed his hand from my grip and quickly moved backwards out of my room, saying in embarrassment and blushing,  "I'm already 20 years old! I'm not a kid! I'll just sleep in the room beside yours!" Then he quickly brushed off to the next room of mine.

Feeling slightly surprised by his reaction, I couldn't help but chuckle at his embarrassment. It was clear that he wanted to assert his independence and be seen as grown-up. As he settled into the room next to mine, I couldn't help but wonder if he secretly appreciated having someone nearby, just in case. Regardless, his response only deepened the bond of friendship and understanding between us.

Zeldris POV

I was still embarrassed about what had happened as I lay in bed in the next room to (Y/n). I shrugged my head to clear up those embarrassing thoughts. By the way, I felt warmth rush through my body as she held my hands in the forest, since I've never felt warmth from the others. And why is she here, living by herself in the middle of a forest? And it seems someone lived with her since there were two rooms. I hope it's not another man living with her. I couldn't shake off the anxiety that kept nagging at me. Eventually, I fall asleep with these thoughts still lingering in my mind. As I drifted off into slumber, I couldn't help but wonder if there was more to (Y/n) and her mysterious life in the forest than meets the eye.

(Y/n)'s POV

I woke up late in the morning and walked down to the kitchen to find a note on the table. It was Zeldris, reminding me that he had left early for an important meeting and thanking me for my help the night before. Feeling a wave of gratitude wash over me, I couldn't help but smile as I read Zeldris's note. It was heartwarming to know that my assistance had meant something to him. As I prepared my breakfast, I couldn't help but reflect on the events of the previous night. "After all, I'm alone again," I signed to myself. The feeling of emptiness crept back, reminding me that my time with Zeldris was fleeting. I finished my breakfast, trying to shake off the melancholy, and reminded myself that I had my own path to walk.
