(Y/n)'s POV
"Look who it is!" a familiar voice called out. I turned to see a group of villagers approaching, their expressions playful and teasing. Among them was the woman I had spoken to earlier, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"(Y/n), Zeldris!" she exclaimed, a grin spreading across her face. "We were just talking about you two. When's the wedding?"
I felt my cheeks flush at the unexpected question, and I glanced at Zeldris, who raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "A wedding?" he echoed, his tone teasing. "I didn't realize we were planning one."
The villagers erupted in laughter, and I couldn't help but join in, feeling a mix of embarrassment and delight. "We're not planning a wedding!" I protested, though I couldn't hide the smile tugging at my lips. "We're just focused on building a better future for everyone."
"Sure, sure," another villager chimed in, crossing her arms with a playful smirk. "But you two are practically inseparable! It's only a matter of time before you decide to make it official."
Zeldris chuckled, his gaze shifting to me. "Is that so? Perhaps we should consider it, then."
I felt my heart race at his words, a flutter of excitement mixed with nervousness. "Zeldris, you can't be serious!" I exclaimed, though I couldn't help but feel a warmth spread through me at the thought.
"Why not?" he replied, his expression earnest yet playful. "If we're going to build a future together, why not start with a celebration of our bond?"
The villagers cheered, their laughter echoing through the streets. "See? Even Zeldris thinks it's a good idea!" one of them shouted, and I could feel the teasing glances directed at me.
"Okay, okay!" I laughed, raising my hands in surrender. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We have a lot of work to do before we even think about a wedding."
"But it would be such a beautiful occasion!" the woman insisted, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Imagine the decorations, the food, the dancing! It would be a celebration of love and unity, just like Meliodas and Elizabeth's wedding!"
I couldn't help but picture it—a gathering of friends and allies, celebrating not just our bond but the peace we had fought so hard to achieve. The thought was both exhilarating and daunting.
Zeldris stepped closer, his expression softening. "If we were to have a wedding, it would be a celebration of everything we've accomplished together. It would symbolize our commitment to each other and to the future we're building."
The villagers nodded in agreement, their enthusiasm infectious. "You have to do it!" one of them urged. "We'll help with the planning! Just say the word!"
I glanced at Zeldris, who was watching me with a mixture of amusement and sincerity. "What do you think?" I asked, my heart racing. "Is this something we should consider?"
He smiled, a warmth radiating from him. "If it brings joy to our people and strengthens the bonds we've formed, then perhaps it's worth exploring."
The villagers erupted in cheers once more, their excitement palpable. "We'll start planning right away!" they exclaimed, already buzzing with ideas.
As the laughter and chatter continued, I felt a sense of warmth enveloping me. The idea of a wedding was still surreal, but the thought of celebrating our love and the unity we had forged filled me with hope. It was a reminder that we were not just building a future for ourselves, but for everyone who had fought alongside us.
"Alright, let's not get too carried away," I said, raising my hands to quiet the crowd. "I'm not a fiancée yet! We still have a lot to figure out before we can even think about planning a wedding."
