(Y/n)'s POV
The collapse of the Kingdom of Edinburgh and my search for Zeldris took place 10 years ago. Even after looking in each and every corner of every kingdom, I was unable to locate his silhouette or any other sign of him. Since the oracle that was placed upon the land of Britain, I chose to always conceal myself by wearing a hooded cloak because I was unable to alter the look of my black hair and golden eyes; even my power was incapable of doing so. Also, as a result of what happened in the collapsed Kingdom of Edinburgh, the kingdoms sought out people with black hair and golden eyes, believing that they would bring prosperity to the land that contained the oracle's information since they hadn't yet found the true bearer of the oracle's power, which is me. Now here I am, back in my sanctuary, lost and desperate to find Zeldris to seek answers to his sudden disappearance. "It's already been 15 years since your sudden disappearance. Why did you suddenly leave without saying goodbye, leaving me desperate and longing for your presence? Why did you even promise but wouldn't even come that day? What happened to you? I've searched every corner of this land, gone through countless trials and obstacles, all to find you," I muttered to myself as I burst into tears in my dimly lit room. Memories of our shared adventures flickered through my mind, each one intensifying the ache in my heart. Zeldris was much more than just a companion; he was my confidant, my guide, and my only solace in this vast, unpredictable world. The unanswered questions and unspoken words hung heavily in the air, fueling my determination to unravel the mystery behind his sudden departure. With every passing day, my resolve grew stronger, for I knew deep down that I would not stop until I found the truth and brought Zeldris back to the place he truly belonged—by my side. The weight of your absence has burdened my heart, and I cannot bear it any longer. My heart ached with every passing moment of uncertainty.
"I didn't even get a chance to find the individual vampire who killed my father because of the person who sealed them. I just hoped that the vampire was still alive and living somewhere out there. So, that I will make sure to suffer that bloodsucker," I stated in a shaky voice, yet determined. Many years passed until I was old enough to depart from life, and in my final moments, I thought to myself, 'So, you really didn't come, Zeldris. I didn't even get the chance to express myself to you. You left me alone in this lonely cabin. It was already too difficult for me to get through each day without your company. In my next life, I hope that I'll never see you again, because your absence has caused me nothing but pain and heartache. I don't want to spend another lifetime longing for someone who will never return. I don't want to love anyone, even if it's someone else. It's better to be alone than to constantly yearn for a love that will never be reciprocated. As I take my final breath, I find solace in the thought that this torment will finally come to an end. Farewell, Zeldris; may you never cross my path again in this life or the next." With those final words, I closed my eyes, ready to embrace whatever awaited me in the next life.
AUTHOR'S POV
(Y/N) died without understanding why Zeldris abruptly vanished that day and betrayed his promise to her and his companionship. Little did (Y/N) know that Zeldris was threatened by his father and tormented by his inner turmoil, which forced him to painfully decide to leave her life. Zeldris, likewise, belonged to the demon clan that the Four Races had sealed, making it impossible for (Y/n) to locate him. As (Y/N) took her final breath, her heart remained heavy with unanswered questions and a lingering sense of betrayal.
Also, the ordeal about the person with black hair and golden eyes has been forgotten year by year over the last 3,000 years since they couldn't find any concrete evidence or definitive answers. The memory of that mysterious figure began to fade from the collective consciousness, becoming nothing more than a distant legend whispered among the few who still remembered. However, deep within the depths of history, an ancient prophecy was slowly unraveling, hinting at the return of a person with black hair and golden eyes. As time moved forward, the forgotten story would soon resurface, and the truth would finally be unveiled, bringing with it a wave of revelation and consequence.
