Chapter Eighteen

Chris's Pov
Me and Era had a great day today. We were enjoying our lives. Doing silly things. How am I so comfortable with her? What was this feeling? Please explain it to me. Its all new for me. Whenever I see her my heart just wants to say:
'Stay close to me just like the sun hugs the shadow at the time of evening dew.'

Era's Pov
Why was I so comfortable with Chris? Why did I let him take control when I was not able to handel myself? I know my heart just said that its okay to tell him everything. I felt safe with him. He is my client but yet he makes me keep my professionalism aside and hang out with him. His soft talks make me feel so safe with him. I don't understand what this feeling actually is?

Right now I only understand one thing. That is whenever I see him my heart says:

'Talk with me softly just like writing of a poem on a blank paper.'

Back In India.
                      Aman's Pov.
I found out that mom used to visit a doctor 1 month before she did suicide. But I remember she wasn't home for about 8 months before her death and then one month before her death she came back and told Ma about Mr. Sharma. I don't know why she have to visit a doctor? How does this doctor comes in the picture? I gotta find out. I am sure I'll get many of my answers today when I visit this doctor.

In New York city.
                      Chris's Pov
Right now we both are on our way to Era's apartment. I left my phone at the office. I was going to take it back and then I saw Era and again forgot about it. I'll take it tomorrow now.

"I'll come with you." I said as I wanted to walk her till her home. She said nothing and just nodded. Its clear she is so much tired but she looks cute.

"How is the door of my house open?" Era said. I looked at the door it was slightly open.
"No one lives with you right? Do any of your friends have the key of your house?" I asked.
"No,  no one has it."
"Okay lets see who's in? Be careful okay and stay alert. Walk behind me. It could be anyone." I said while making her stand behind me.
We walked in.

"You guys here? At this time? What happened?" Era said.
"But firstly how did you get in?" I asked to the people in front of me.
They were none other than Aster, Leo and Sam.
"We were finding both of you. You guys disappeared and now you both are coming together. We were worried" Aster said being concerned.
"Era was supposed to be coming back with me." Sam said.
"And none of you answered our phone calls." Leo added.

"We were just out to have little dinner. I promised Era to take her on the dinner and a walk at city at night." I said hiding what really happened. I know she would not be happy if I told everything without discussing it with her.

"But you should have informed us atleast texted us." Sam said.
"Actually I left my phone at the office by mistakenly."
"And my phone is switched off because of low charging." Era said.

"You guys scared us we almost were going to call in police." Sam said.
"What are we small children to call police." I said sarcastically.
"But wait guys how did you get in?" Era said.
"Its easy I opened the lock." Leo said.
"How?"
"He can open a lock with hair pins. And he keeps those hair pins always with him." Sam said.
"That's quiet a talent!" Era exclaimed.

"Well we gotta go now. My wife must have been waiting for me." Aster said.
"You're right lets go." Leo said.
"Well Mr. Chris I hope your coming with us or are you going to spend some time.."
"Shut up Sam lets go." I said and we were heading out.
"Bye." Era waved.
"Bye." Aster, Leo and Sam said.
"Bye. Take care." I said winking at her and three of them went 'aww' but we knew what it was for she just smiled and nodded.

"Ouch I am really sorry." Sam said as he bumped into a small girl.
"Its all okay." The girl said.
"Era you are here finally. I've been waiting for you. Are you okay?" The girl said and went to hug Era. Era hugged her and took her into her arms.
"Aww, this girl is so cute." Sam said.
"Thank you. This cute girls name is Lisa. And you?" The girl said.
"Sam."
"Right from treasure beats. I know you. My mom is a big fan of you all."
"Oh is it cutie pie?" Sam said and she nodded.
"Lisa. Are you here?" A woman came out from nearby house.

"Emma!" Sam said. "Momma Era is home finally and isn't this your favourite band?" Lisa said.
The woman nodded.
"You're her mom Emma?" Sam asked.
"Ahh.. Yes." The woman replied.

"How did you know her Sam?" Era asked.
"Emma was my college friend." Sam said.
"Ohh."
"We gotta go now. Come on." Leo said and we went to our house.

"Chris your mom is calling me." Aster said.
"Give it to me." I said being tensed.

On phone call.
"Mom is everything okay? Dad, is he fine?" I asked being concerned.

"Chris please come to the hospital fast." She said.

I handed Asters phone to him and rushed to my car.

"Is everything okay Chris?" Aster asked.
"I'll explain you tomorrow."
"Okay be safe." Sam said and I drove off towards the hospital.

"Mom, what happened?"
" Your dad he wants to meet you." She said but I can see her tears.

"Chris, son you're here."
"What is it dad?"
"You knew I was going to die right."
"W..what are you? Saying there is nothing like that."
"Don't hide it now. I already know."
"Dad, don't worry. I'll..."
"Wait there son. Now I don't want anything. I just want to see you getting married. Please son. Get married."
"Dad, I.."
"I saw your pictures you were dancing with someone weren't you. I know you have a girl in your life."
Dancing, is he talking about Era. How did he know her?
"Dad, she is my friend and actually  my teams HR department head. I have nothing to do with her."
"I saw the photo son. I know you. You're eyes were glittering."
"Okay. I do feel different with her but there is nothing more than that."
"You will build the relationship son. Not every marriage is love marriage. Arrange marriages exist. And they are successful too."
"Dad, I can't ask her to marry me like that. There's nothing between us. How can I just marry her?"
"You'll work it out."
"Dad but.."
"Please consider it my last wish."
"Dad don't say that. Okay I'll do it."

I said I'll do it. But how? I just started feeling something different. How will I ask her to marry me? Will she really agree to marry? Will it be difficult for her? What will I do now?

Back in India.
                 Aman's Pov
Was it true? All I heard from the doctor, was it all truth? I am confused, disappointed,  sad. Why mom hide this thing from us?

"What happened Aman? Are you okay?" Ma asked. I hugged her and tears made their way through my eyes.
"What happened baby everything okay?"
"Ma. I had a sister. Mom gave birth to a girl but later she gave her for adoption. Why did she do that Ma?" I said while crying.
I can see Ma was totally shocked.
