A/N: Hey guys, it's me. I'm sorry I've been gone for so long. I recently logged back into Wattpad and say all the worried comments wondering where I disappeared to since it's been so long since the last update. My life has been super busy lately. I was working a lot, I had a lot of family stuff going on, and I recently just moved to a new state and started university.

I started this fanfic when I was in high school. Covid had shut the world down and I was so incredibly bored. I learned about the history of the Onceler fandom and I got sucked in. This fanfic was something I would do to pass the time. I never expected it to reach so many people and to have so many loyal readers. I thank each and every one of you who has stuck around.

I can't promise I'll be consistent in updating going forward, but I am going to write a couple chapters this weekend to release at once. Hopefully it gives you what you've all been waiting for and makes up for my extended absence. Thank you, guys. Without you I probably would not have continued writing this story.

(Name) sat on the edge of the dock. She had just gotten back from changing into her bathing suit for the canoe race. The bathing suit was a black, blue, and white bikini though it wasn't as revealing as some of the other bikinis she had seen other girls wearing in the cabin. Of course, they all had to put t-shirts on over because the school expected them to hide the fact that they had bodies. Others gathered around as they were waiting for everyone to make it back before starting. Norma sauntered up with a mischievous smile.

"How did you do this?" (Name) asked, referring to how Norma claimed to pull strings to get her and Onceler paired up.

"I have my ways," Norma responded vaguely as she sat next to (Name). "A magician never reveals their tricks."

Of course, the mention of magicians reminded (Name) of the Onceler all over again. She wasn't sure how to feel now that Norma has made it her mission to make this field trip "romantic" for the two of them. She preferred it more not worrying about what else her friend would pull.

"Hey, Norma," someone called. It was Autumn. Her and Norma were partners for the race. She waved the other girl over.

"That's my cue," Norma said and stood. "I'll see you later, good luck with the races." She winked before turning and jogging away.

(Name) sighed. She lightly kicked her feet as she stared into the water below her at her reflection. She was so excited for this camping trip, but it was an anxious excitement that made her feel sick to her stomach. With Norma interfering with her friendship with the Onceler, (Name) wasn't sure how she would make it to the end of the week.

As if on cue, a familiar face appeared behind (Name)'s reflection in the water. Of course, it was Onceler. "Oh, hey," (Name) greeted him as she turned around. Immediately she froze, staring at the boy behind her. He was standing and with the increased height difference between (Name) sitting down and Onceler standing, he towered over her. The girl's head was level with his thigh.

Onceler was wearing nothing but a pair of dark blue swim trunks and swim shoes. (Name) had never seen him without a shirt before and she felt her face grow hot as she stared. The boy wasn't as scrawny as she had always imagined. He had some lean muscle on him, which was probably due to the farm chores he likely did on the daily. As (Name) looked him up and down, she realized there was a thin trail of hair that started right under his naval and down...

Stop being such a creep! (Name) yelled at herself once she realized she was starting inappropriately. She felt ashamed of the things she had been thinking and feeling about the boy who was supposed to be her best friend, nothing more.
