The school was absolutely crawling with people. It was pretty easy to tell the schools' students apart from the colors they were dressed in. Mulberry High was blue and yellow, Hortonstown High was yellow and green.
(Name) followed close behind Onceler and Norma. They knew their way around better, and the girl didn't want to get lost. The small group stopped at an admissions booth.
"Hello, children. Do you have your tickets?" Mrs. Wocket asked, as she was attending the booth. When all three tickets were placed on the table, she gave a nod signalling they could go in.
They walked a little ways towards the field before Norma turned to the others. "Once we find our seats, I want to stop at the concession stand. Do you guys want anything?" Onceler shook his head while (Name) thought a bit.
"Do they have popcorn?"
"You know it."
"Cool, I'll have some," she said with a smile.
Norma smiled back and turned to keep walking. (Name) was shocked when they got to the bleachers. They weren't super close to the start of the game or anything, but the bleachers were still pretty full. How long have people been waiting out here in the cold?
They had to do some searching to find decent seats that weren't all the way in the back of the bleachers. "Alright, you two stay here. Onceler, you may need to keep standing so I can find my way back." He chuckled and nodded a little.
Somewhere someone was playing music. It didn't sound like very recent stuff, but (Name) still felt like she vaguely knew the songs. They were fun enough though, and she moved her shoulders and hips a little in a contained dance. Onceler grinned and copied her. It didn't take long for the two to face each other, mirroring each others' dancing.
Norma came back with two bags of popcorn and some candy. "Wow, you guys are for real having a dance party without me?" The dancers looked from her to each other and laughed. The game was soon to start and the three took their seats on the bleachers.
"How do these things usually go?" (Name) inquired, looking between her friends. She had never been to this sort of thing before and had no idea what to expect.
"I mean it's pretty straightforward. Usually it starts with everyone rising while the school band plays the national anthem, then the game starts. At half time each cheerleading team has some sort of special routine planned that they do. It's not a super long break, then the game continues. Someone wins, there's an afterparty..." Norma trailed off.
Onceler chuckled. "Yeah, that's pretty much it. Although I usually don't go to the parties." (Name) nodded.
"Huh, alright. Well no parties for me tonight, I've got plans tomorrow," (Name) said, her sister's party in mind. Onceler chuckled. "Yeah, I've got stuff too." Before she could ask, (Name) heard an announcement on the speakers for everyone to rise for the anthem.
The song was over with quickly, and the game soon started.

Half time. The Clydesdales were behind so far. While some of her classmates seemed dejected about the teams current standings, (Name) had never heard the amount of support and trash talk the others were shouting at once before.
Norma was a big part in it too. The last time the Kwuggerbugs got a touchdown, the shorter girl yelled a whole string of curses and swore they were soon going to go down. Someone had passed her a painted sign of a clydesdale horse squishing a kwuggerbug with it's huge hoof.
