(Vasileios's POV)
"Do you have a reservation?"
"No." Tak answered honestly.
"I'm sorry, Sir. You must have a reservation and everyone in your party must be...properly dressed." The uptight hostess said, eyeing both myself and Astraea.
Giatrakos was one of those restaurants that had a dress code. A suit and tie type of dress code for men and dresses or pant suits for women. It was one of the reasons I've only eaten at the place a few times.
Before I could get a word in, the man himself came out from the back with a panicked look on his face.
"Mr. Amato, why didn't you call?" Giatrakos asked.
The hostess's eyes became wide with fear upon hearing his words and bowed her head, wanting to look anywhere but at me.
"Not a surprise that way."
"What can I do for you? Would you like a table? We are full at the moment but I can get you a table. Until then, we have spots at the bar available."
Letting go of Astraea's hand, I stepped forward until I was all up in his personal space.
"Beis has a reservation here tonight, right?"
He nodded. "Yes, yes he does."
"Any of his party arrive yet?"
"No, no. He is usually first. His reservation is always at 8 so he does not arrive until 7:45."
"Know which table is his?"
"Always the same one. Back left corner. Able to see the entrance, kitchen entrance, and it's away from the bathrooms."
"We'll take those seats at the bar for now."
"Of course. Right this way."
Astraea grabbed my hand in hers as we followed him back to the bar. I tried my best to keep the smirk off my face when she carefully hopped up onto the stool and let out a small whimper of discomfort. The pain was from last night and this morning both when I'd taken her for a third time in the shower when we got up. I gave her every opportunity to stop me, but she didn't.
"Anything to drink?"
"Water for all three of us." I answered.
"Anything to eat?" He questioned, opening a menu up in front of us.
Tak ordered his usual while I gave Astraea two options and explained what each of them was. She wasted no time picking the one I said was my favorite.
Twenty minutes passed before the front door opened and Beis walked in with his entourage of bodyguards. Downing the rest of my water, I gave Astraea a kiss on the forehead and gave Tak my orders before moving.
I was about ten feet away before he saw me and his guards stepped up to block my path.
"Leave him be. Unless you want your brains decorating the walls." He told his guys.
Shouldering past them, I took a seat across from him and gave him a smile.
"New hires?"
He scoffed and shook his head. "That obvious. Had four retire so they gave me these idiots."
"Least you're not dead yet."
"True, but since you're here and you don't like this place that much I'm guessing that might change."
"Always a smart one. Must be why you're the president of our beautiful country."
"This a business or personal matter?"
